So i found a vintage white TIE for free on craigslist yesterday and picked it up today. Everything is present and apparently the light and sounds still work. Its a bit yellowed but that's to be expected. One problem that the guy told me about, and I'm now trying to figure out: The two parts that attach the wing/foil to the main part of the TIE don't want to stay attached.

The springs are still in good condition, and you can feel when you go to put the part in it, but it doesn't stay or click. I don't see any damage from looking into the hole where they go, but is there something I'm missing or do I have to take it apart to find the problem? I'll provide pictures if needed.

Thanks!

There is a hook/latch system on each side, looks like half an arrow! The hook part can often break which is on the end of the button/lever.
