Can anyone tell me how i go about authenticating two original x-wing sketches given to me in the late seventies/early eighties at pinewood studios. they are about 14 inches by 10 inches and are pencil sketches (i assume) of possible ship designs for one of the first films.
I recently saw a similar one on ebay of the same design which reminded me i had them. It went for $1,250!?
Thanks

Trying to upload photos now. Drawings have artists name on them: Johnston.

Hi there

A few pictures would help :D

If there are any markings on them , it may also help ...

Ralph was the guy who made the sketches for the movies . You can see more here: http://www.ralphmcquarrie.com/

Would love to see photos of those.
As Soren says I would contact the guys that run that site and ask how to authenticate as they sell originals there and at a fair price too.
It might also be worth speaking to cinema memorabilia experts, there are a few about, especially in London, places line the cinema store on St Martins lane might be able to offer a valuation.

Hi,

thanks to Soren and monkey-roo for the info. I'll organise photos and put them up. Also let you know how it goes.

Hi

On a closer look at the two drawings i have they appear to be ink on thick cartridge paper and are signed: Johnston.
One is an x-wing in attack confiuration, numbered 5 in one corner.
The other is a Y-wing with 'Thrust vector detail' and numbered 18 in the corner.
I've tried to up-load them but am unable to at the moment. I can e-mail them to anyone interested in the mean time.
