Well yeah i wanted too ,, but unlike some nuggets that would do this with a vintage card my idea was to get something that looked almost vintage.

I was shopping at christmas and had an excuse to be in a toy dept without feeling like a complete weirdo,,,and i saw the new vintage line stormie sandtrooper.. TBH i was excited and a little pissed off.

Mainly caused i wanted it but ,, knew thats exactly why hasbro had made them.
i looked closer and yeah the scuplt was better than modern ever has been,, but thats like saying licking cat **** was marginally better than dog poop.

But i bought it to open and see did it feel like it did when i was a kid.

sorry phone pics

stupid looking tray and a leaflet advising you not to stick the stormie down your throat

then i tried to remember what way i did it,, i never remeber being careful? So i just ripped at it like a mad kid,,,i even ate some smarties during this part for effect,, but even they have been changed :(

Anyway off my face on sugar and with sticky fingers i pried him out threw away the tray and leaflet and tried to make him stand,, very tricky.

So what he can turn his head ,, big deal. Still opening one did feel good but nothing like i remember.

And the last though was "oh crap what happens if i just opened something that could be worth something in 30 years??"

my thoughts were just like they were in the 80's "screw it dont care " :D

Awesome. Feel better?
I've never been one for "modern" but i've always thought those Stormtroopers look pretty cool. 8)

I've never opened moc vintage star wars since I was a kid, but I opened a moc robotech figure some years ago,
and it didn't feel to bad, certainly made me smile, even the smell of the figure was the same,
but when that feeling passed, it felt like I was doing something illegal :(
Modern cards I have no problems opening, excellent toys, especially the stormtroopers, hasbro did good on those, but no warm fuzzy feeling inside with them :p

I love thw sculpt on the helmet.............................................................

......................................oh no.......its happening again :)

I opened one of the Toys R Us Rocket Fett's last year, that really felt like opening a proper vintage figure apart from the bubble!

Title of the thread scared me for a second! Good thing it was a shite modern fig

Yeah the whole tearing bit is satisfying. I spent ages with a bloody stanley knife and its just not the same

yeah just grabbed it a ripped,, its quite clean actually.. i am gonna pop him back in and leave him rattle without a tray as he was intended too.

I highly recommend doin it. :)
