Yeah so I've bigged myself up with a bold headline but I bet after reading this you'll agree.
Anyway to cut a long story short my grandpa was Arnold Ross ... location manager for Star Wars (as well as other movies). Sadly he died quite a while back and although I wasn't able to spend much time with him he did leave me some reminders ....

So what did he leave? Well for starters

1/

An original script - this was given to the film crew and its numbered 393 - 4th draft Jan 1st 1976 - The adventures of luke starkiller as taken from the "Journey of the Whills" by George Lucas. The script has a hard yellow cover with a large sticker on the front. The cover is a bit dog eared however the script pages (145 in total) are in very good condition.

2/

An original call-sheet (that was found within the script) - number 5 (Friday, March 26th 1976). These were normally thrown away so I can probably bet there aren't many around. It's made up of 3 pages that have been folded. A very interesting doc;I like the fact they use 7 children for jawas and they are reminded to not forget the Gaderiffi axe prop (??)

3/

A special ringlet book that I believe were given to each crew member. The ring binder has a black cover with a SW sticker and is A5 in size and made up of 25 black and white movie stills. They are in very good condition and numbered on the back. The numbers are very high some have 1,316 / 2,064 etc which leads me to believe they might be one offs (not sure). The final back still is a message to my grandpa signed by George Lucas and Gary Kurtz.

4/

Finally I have a collection of stickers featuring Luke and the words 'The Star Wars' - in both large (x10) and small sizes (x9).

I know these collectables are not exactly your average action figure or pencil case but I do intend to sell all items (except the black booklet I am keeping for sentimental reasons) - most probably on Ebay so it would be great to get an approximation ... especially as I would be foolish not to put up a reserve.

Of course I will keep all SW fans up-to-date on any up coming auctions.

Thanks,

James

ps - I would have uploaded more images but it limits me to 3

Bollocks to ebay mate - they look like they deserve to be in a specialist auction

I think it would be pretty tragic to sell these in my opinion. If one of my relatives had been involved in the films I would be holding onto them for dear life. Especially items like the script. Thats a lovely piece of family history. Call me sentimental. :D

Yeah I would agree these are something to treasure.

However if you are going to sell go with the specialist auction route as eBay may cause major headaches and the fees are just as high as an auction. House .

Hi Caswellbot

I agree they are 'special' items and have no intention of selling the ringed booklet that was presented to my grandpa; this will become a family heirloom. The script however to me is just a large (yet interesting) pad with no sentimental value and due to circumstances I do need the cash input. Funny thing is I did put it in a specialized auction (Bonhams) almost 10 years ago - did not hit its reserve (circa 1,500) ... so have decided to give it another go.

I thought Ebay would have been a good option as it would have attracted the US market as well as those in the UK.

Thanks,

James
