Hi guys.

I have just received my 5th or possibly 6th DS Droid that was bought as a MINT example with great paint. These guys are either retards or great scammers. Maybe its me?!

His left eye has been touched up. Badly!

I'm sick of it now, if they don't have loose limbs they're fkin glued, if they don't have great paint they're touched up!

I always get the pic that makes them look lovely.

I would like a MINT example Death Star Droid and I'm happy to pay top dollar.

Please help me out!

Bram

I touched up a Death Star Droid once............................................he loved it

The one you sold me was really nice and you said his limbs were glued...I was confused as all his limbs move..........so could you define the term "Glued" better.

There aren't many DSD's out there that came off the production line "mint" so I would just try to set your expectations a little lower for this figure as they have too many things on them that could go wrong during production.

I should know, I went through 6 of them too (didn't we all?) and I still never found one that was as perfect as I wanted it to be, but the thing is, when you stand them on a shelf or in a cabinet and take a step back, can you really see that slightly blobby left eye paint application or the sloppy chrome on his left leg? No, I didn't think so.

Don't beat yourself up over getting the perfect DSD, there was once a guy that bought an AFA U90 one for $600 so the hunt for a C10 specimen can clearly send you bonkers. (Bet he is still blowing raspberries and rocking back and forth in a corner somewhere)

Just be thankful I don't charge you extra. They look glued to me!
You've had a right touch...

Invoice coming...

No glue on him whatsoever   You could have him back If you wanted.......Not sure what to charge for my grading and inspection service :D

I think I know what Bram means, because I've got one that "looks glued", but it is just ageing.

I find that generally the later carded figures ie Jedi, Tri-logo seem to have superior paint jobs compared to the early releases on SW cards. Buy a late carded example.

i too have bought a few in the past that have been touched up with a permanent black pen! or had loose limbs galore. i got one in the end from ebay.com didnt pay too much. funny thing i lost out to moc dsd the other on ebay uk for £20 grrrr.......
