Well, this coul be a plot for a spin off

I recently had a birthday which was quite a significant one, and 2 days later my son had his 30 th birthday
We had agreed no paties etc :D

So secretly my wife and my sons wife organised a party secretly nd a cake, they decided to put a Luke and a darth on the top of the cake ...they ended up with buying the black series ones BUT, prior to that they decided to have a look through my loosies and took a darth and a Luke

Yes you guessed it my EB Luke with original saber :!:   :? ( I had no idea)

Subsequently, the Luke was returned as below, with a saber oops :!:

It transpires that the tip of the original saber dropped off :!:   and they decided to get a replacement....cue an awkward moment around the dinner table tonight when I unwrapped my EB Luke from bubble wrap and managed for about 30 seconds to disguise my look of horror

Then the truth was revealed, that they trawled the internet for a replacement saber

Now my daughter in law has just rung me to say she has found the saber....phew :!: BUT minus tip

So I'm now not as badly off....secretly gutted...

What does this hobby do to us :?:

Anyway the tale is not as sad as it could have been, but I thought I would share this tale of woe

Yep, float tested, checked it out had the marks and a small letter eithe an a or an e but was. Worn and hard to tell, I was 95 %. It was good enough for me in my little world as I never sell on, and it was EB and original as far as I could be certain, which was enough for me :D

Happy Birthday Michael

Great to see it was a happy ending :D

What does this hobby do to us :?: I think you would fell the same if they had broken a mirror of your new car or something like that. So I don't think it is the hobby :D

Oh dear - good intentions my friend good intentions...

When I started to collect I had a shelf next to my workstaion (where I work from) but its in our bedroom. The loose figures at that time where placed on said shelf.

The wife dried her hair in the bedroom and unwittingly blow the whole bloody lot off the shelf guns n all

She couldnt see what the fuss was about

Hair today gone tomorrow, Bob. A. Fett, a brush with disaster, gone with the wind, curl up and dye,

How many minutes before the wife notices your are acting involuntarily guilty, and she sees that look in the eye that you've done or said something wrong...fess up now mate it will be easier in the long run,

Where do you think the jedi s got a grip on mind tricks

She's gone to bed, without a goodnight too...

'Are you on that bloody Star Wars website again?'

Worse part is I had a mate over and donned the SWFUK tshirt to show it off, I am now alone in the front room in my SWFUK tshirt posting away like a sad old git.

Mine's just as bad ..in fact no, she's worse with her stupid Babycentre forum  What a total load of complete pants! We don't even have a baby

To me this forum seems more relevant than a load of gossip and talk about 'problems' with children. Also there are chances for the guys on here to meet up (Farthest From, CE etc) ...oh, AND we trade real things and help each other out! We don't just express our own opinions ..although we do do that

Basically, to sum up, SWFUK is better than all other forums and is worth our time. Not sure why exactly, but it is

Hi Michael

This is a bloody great story and the whole reason I have a lock on my room door which gets locked every time I leave the house for work or going through to the gf's house.

A few years back when I had my original C-3po focus that I sold off. Above my Ikea unit 2 big speakers My Herbert MOC , 2 Rotj 2 Packs , My Rebo band in an acrylic AFA Style case , C-3PO miscard on Stormtrooper card that Gary now owns and a few other bits and Pieces am Sure Joe will remember my old pictures still have them on one my other external hard drives. Anyway my bloody cat managed to jump all the way up past my speaker and Knocked my shelf down which very fortunately only manged to break My Gentle Giant Ltd Edition silver Stormtrooper bust blaster from his hand and some how all the vintage was left unharmed but I swear I could have put the wee furry ****er in the Microwave for 5 mins

Cheers

Vince
