Wish I had found this forum years ago and now would have been an expert, some very knowledgeable people on here and hoping friendly and forgiving for someone new (enough sucking up!!).

Now I have read quite a lot of posts on here and across the internet, so like I say it is just a little bit of advice from anyone and apologies for the long post but reading comments this is what you guys like to hear (a bit of provenance)

My star wars collection I have had since I was very young (I am mid 30's now), so all the stuff I have is vintage and the original star wars. I was an only child (spoilt) and did accumulate quite a bit of stuff over my childhood, I did have visions of setting up a dedicated display growing up but the reality was that it all ended up in the loft and I now have my own house, family etc and never realised that goal....so have decided to dig out all the stuff from my parents loft to sort through.

Now I did say about selling my star wars stuff to my mother (who is in to auctions and the like) and she got in touch with a company called "Vectis" who are a specialist toy auctioneers for me. Now they are wanting to get a hold of the stuff straight away to go through and catalogue for an upcoming star wars auction in July (read this week) but guess I have a couple of questions really.

1. Has anyone used "Vectis" before and do they really look through collections or just job lot them? I have been on their website and looks a lot of job lots. So although easier option not sure if it will highlighted any items of interest
2. Are there any figures or vehicles that I should look out for? Have been looking on the internet most of the morning and its all Blue Snaggletooth, Vinyl jawa's and the rocket Boba Fett's.
3. If there are any special vehicles or figures, I would be a lot happier if a genuine collector added them to their collection from this site.

I think you would be better off on ebay, Vectis charges buyers a large commission so bids will be lower on more common stuff.

For ease of sale a job lot on Vectis or ebay is the way to go, but things like your boxed Slave 1 will fetch more on it's own (£35-£60 depending on condition).

The figures without weapons (and chewed lightsabres) are probably not worth much more than 50p to £1, but if your Luke Stormtrooper is complete and in good nick he might fetch £50ish.

Without photos it's very difficult to say

i would never go to an auctioneers, not sure about this company but wont the commision for them be around 20% ???

Ebay is where most people go, plus give us the listing link and maybe get a few extra bids :wink:

Well I have been round parents for the past 3 hours getting and sorting the stuff out, unfortunately some of the stuff is not the rose tinted condition I was hoping for. Mainly due to 15+ years of sitting in a loft and my dad moving them around!!! Boxes have certainly seen better days and all the toys need a bit of tlc to clean them up to the level they deserve....lots of bits missing but others are fully complete (i think).

Think that i am going to go down the Vectis route, unless there is anything of interest to anyone here or you would recommend to put on ebay. Don't know if you can tell but I'm disappointed with what I found as I was obsessive at looking after my collection and have let it go a bit.

I have managed to get most names of stuff and took pictures of everything (will put up once i sort them out).....so here goes. If boxed will state.

- Original Kenner Black Plastic Han Solo Blaster - makes blaster sound - missing one clip from battery cover. Sticker on it says empire strikes back in middle with star above it and wars below. This is a kids toy but I reckon is the same siza as real gun, it is battery operated and you press button on handle then trigger to do blaster sound. No idea if it still works.

- Return of the Jedi Waddingtons 150 piece Jigsaw - picture is of luke confronting jabba with his blaster, also comes with print of picture as well. No idea if all jigsaw pieces are there but they are in a bag so would hope so.

- Return of the Jedi - Storybook based on film.

Phew and that is everything!!!

Like I said, I have took pictures of everything (40 in total) and will put those up for people to view....not sure if i will get done tonight but will try tomorrow.

Personally as the majority are in loose, played with and incomplete condition it really isn't worth using Vectis and sadly you won't be able to retire on your old toys.
