Hi Chaps

To stop people whining about the number of threads I have, I have just put some figures up on Facebook - I have a load of carded and loose to list on here shortly but better make sure my threads are cleared down first

If anyone wants any of these then feel free to drop me a PM on here or FB

I do not use Facebook or any social media, so no good for me or anybody else like me.. :(

Just do not get why somebody would be moaning like a little bitch about a great seller, selling tons of great vintage Star Wars on a vintage Star Wars forum.., just ****ed it up for everybody else...

Snap again FB not for me,

I'd like to say a big fat thank you to who ever has been moaning about Iain's threads. You've managed to spoil it for everyone else who doesn't use FB  cheers and Merry Christmas.

Echo the comment above. Iain is a credit to this forum and sells lots of top quality stuff, if the volume of sale items warrants it surely multiple threads aren't a big deal!?!

Forcing some of the best members off the forum and onto ebay and facebook ... is that really the way forward!?!

I had suggested to Iain that he sends me a PM with his next draft sales thread and I could list it pretending it was mine, I'd then forward him every PM, the MODs would never know, maniacal laugh maniacal laugh

I would be pretty certain these complaints are coming from another seller. Either feeling Iain is getting preferential treatment or is jealous.

Problem is, if Iain takes his business elsewhere then whoever is complaining has won as they will have got the biggest seller off the forum.

i personally hope Iain doesn't get too annoyed by this and continues to sell here. He doesn't abuse the forum. His sales threads are always full enough to justify multiple threads and he closes them when they are nearly empty.

Concur with everone in this thread. Dont let one person spoil it for everyone else mate.

The amount of newbies and general idiots you get on facebook plus the large number of people who dont frequent it makes facebook not worth it IMO.

You can understand without even a look,
Why there are detractors from face book.
Each to his own this is truly the case,
For all and sundry there is a place,
But for the discerning, the avid, the vintage fans true,
For the likes of SWFUKers like me and you,
We send out the call loud and proud,
Iain your threads are eagerly awaited, and whats more...allowed.
There is no reason for you to take heed of minority,
I think I speak for 99% of us with authority.
You have left these shores for a life anew,
But SWFUKer buyers will still form a queue,
For your wares that are minty and priced to sell,
To ensure we on this forum are looked after well,
Sure they will buy on FB in a snip,
But probably for gain and simply to flip.
So come back to the home that you know so well,
The storm of frustration you now must quell,
Don't listen to one that may cause unfounded hysteria
For motives that are simply ulterior.
Look forward to business as usual do we,
Thread after thread we are waiting to see :D :D

I know I rarely pick up anything on here (nothing to do with the quality of what's on offer it's just that I tend to only go after a few specific things), but I always enjoy seeing what gems Iain has picked up and has on offer. I also don't use FB and would hate to see these goodies going up for grabs else where.

What ever idiot is moaning needs to take a running jump as far as I'm concerned as having multiple sales threads up really isn't hurting anyone. I can't even understand why someone who is looking on the sales thread to buy things would even have a problem with more vintage goodness coming up for sale, be it from multiple sellers or just one, It's not like Iain's selling junk at joker prices.

Maybe it's the complainers who should go off to FB

Ian

Got to say its dissapointing hearing someone moaning about a guy who helps people to improve their collection.

Iain, you do a great service, keep it up-witgout FB.

I would officially like to complain about Iain for even contemplating selling things on farcebook...

Get off of there man, and get a new sales thread going on here.

I could understand someone complaining if our FS threads were as busy as RS, but they aren't.

On the first page of this thread and the SW items FS thread the bottom post was last commented on in November. So even if Iain has a lot of threads, whoever posts is still going to see their thread on the first page. It wasn't as if Iain was continually bumping his threads either.

I don't quite see where the person is coming from myself.

Don't use FB either, I agree with everything on this thread except the OP, don't go the FB route, it would mean a huge disturbance in the force, like millions of voices (well quite a few) suddenly cried out & then were silenced!

I made that exact point. ****ing ridiculous to complain about a sales thread here. You put one up and it sticks around on the 1st page for days, sometimes weeks. Seriously, get a ****ing grip!

Swfuk is a niche community and we do not have the amount of sellers RS has. So the no multiple thread rule is ridiculous especially if it is going to drive out a real asset as Iain. So mods please get rid of the "no multiple thread" rule.

This rule should only apply If someone has 4 things to offer and opens 4 threads, but Iain and recently Bram had to offer so much that multiple threads works beautifully.
