Hello everyone, i am new to the site, but not new to Star Wars or the figures.........as a boy i had just about every figure, ship etc etc imagineable - one day i came home and my mam announced that she had given my entire collection to a charity shop - everything was in storage as i was now 18 years old, so prabably around 1995; i raced down the town to the charity shop, only to find that the lot was sold - ****, eh...LOL - it still pains me to this day

so - fast forward 14 years and i now collect banned original films from 1984, known as the video nasties (i have 37 of the original 39 films banned by the DPP act of 1984)..........i have a very sought after collection - BUT, i miss my Star Wars collection, so i have decided to collect them again........i am trying to get them MINT and boxed and sealed.........because i am treating it as a lifetime gig

if anyone has the time to help me with searching hints, with sales you have yourselves etc etc i would be very very grateful

What in particular are you looking for

loose figures or carded. Sealed vehicles and playsets will be a tough one

I very much doubt you had everything imaginable as there are loads that were not released worldwide and are tough to come by....but you never know, you may have been one lucky kid. Which country you located in?

you will have to forgive my ignorance - i had all the ships available, i had 2 ewok villages, 1 boxed and unused, 1 that i used and probably 1000 figures.........none boxed though......

i am in Sunderland, England

i want to collect the figures.........boxed and fully complete - not too bothered about space ships though....

Hey

There was no ignorance that needed forgiving. As you state you are very new to this so there is a lot to learn, but it is a great deal of fun. As a fellow UK collector, you've come to probably the best site for someone starting out.

Some of us on here have been collecting for nearly 20 years!!!! 8)

Do you have any Vintage star wars stuff at the moment?

i have a boba fett (sp) - unboxed....LOL

i lost all my appetite after the charity shop incident...............obviously - LOL

are the boxed figures hard to get?

Not hugely, but can be expensive....by Boxed I assume you mean carded?

like that yes - carded..........LOL - in pre cert world it is wrapped, shrinked etc etc

expense is always a problem - i have paid quite alot for biggies (tapeswise) in the past........some VHS titles fetch into the thousands of pounds - my lates purchase cose me £300 - an intact Expose

i would prefer to buy from people on here, who i can learn from and trust

you seem to have a similar set up, communitywise as we do on the pre cert forum...........

if many carded figures come up for sale on here i shall have to be on my toes

The expense of figures will depend on rarity and demand.

Some can be had for £20

Some for many thousands!!!


Do you want every figure carded....or just certain ones?

seems nice enough though eh?.............i will lose this most probably - i never bid much until i know what things are worth

Check your PM's

Are you getting the figures on any film card (i.e. it doesn't matter whether it's SW, ESB or ROTJ)

Or did you want each figure on the film related card. That is, if the character appears first in ESB, then you'd get it on an ESB card?
