Hi Guys,
We're moving house very soon and my Star Wars fan of a wife has agreed to let me have the 2nd largest bedroom as a Star Wars room! :D
(it also has to double as my art studio so need to keep space for a desk & small sofa).

Anyway, I'll finally be able to display my entire collection rather than the small amount on display in our current terrace house.

In addition to my vintage figures I also have boxes and boxes of pretty much anything from food packaging to books, from helmets to shop display pieces ranging from vintage items, to the '97 special editions and onward to the prequels, TV shows and TFA....

I'm just looking for a little inspiration as to how to display it all?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

Should a categorise by film or by era? Or perhaps by type of item (i.e. all books together, all records together etc)?

If anyone has any photos of their collections please feel free to post them to give me some ideas!

Looking forward to hearing any ideas you guys may have - the more creative the better!

Thanks in advance!!!
Adam

That sounds great I have plans also to have a display room at some stage. Did you check the vintage showcase section on the forum. You will get some ideas from the pictures. There are some amazing displays on show from the members on here.

Yeh I realised that'd be a good place to look right after I'd posted this topic! :)
Have already started browsing - there are some great set ups....

Still open to suggestions and ideas though....

Heading off to the local BHS shortly as I hear they're selling off all their shop fixtures and fittings... hoping to land on a nice display unit or two...

Paint the ceiling as a night scene with a death star- can print a pic of the net probably

if you have any ships- why not have them hanging from thin cable

In theory this sounds awesome... but in reality I suspect it may make the room too dark...
I've already resigned myself to having to keep the curtains/blinds closed most of the time to prevent fading/UV damage...

I am looking into getting some UV filtering film to stick on the windows though... has anyone else tried this?

I use the UV film on all my windows, it also reflects heat out on hot days as its very slightly reflective. Had it installed, but on the garage windows, I installed the same but frosted myself, easy to do.

Any luck at BHS?

Cool - I'll definitely be giving the UV film a try then...

Yep, I picked up a pigeon hole style shelving display unit which should look pretty good filled with my larger memorabilia...
They have loads of stuff available though - I'd highly recommend popping down if anyone is after new ways to display stuff...
They also have an abundance of manikins in all shapes and sizes from £10-20 each which would be great for anyone with costumes to display...
