Hey guys,

My kids were mascots for Luton Town last night and I got some photos using my phone. It is quite a decent camera but some photos are pretty blurred. Is there anyone here who knows how to rectify blurred pics??

Cheers

Hi Lee,

Sorry, I didn't see this post until today otherwise I would have replied sooner.

Sadly, there's only so much you can do with blurred photos. Programs like Photoshop can sharpen images a little bit, but it really is only a little, and mainly works for the edges of things in the picture (but this does include things like eyes and lips). If the original images are 'pretty blurred' as you say, then there may not be much that can be done without mega-bucks image processing software.

I don't mind trying to sharpen them using Photoshop for you, but as I say, sadly it may not help much, as if the source pictures simply don't have the image data present in them, the program isn't smart enough to know how to recreate it (e.g. if a face is completely blurred, it's not smart enough to create a nose where a human brain would know one should be, etc.).

Yeah Jeremy is dead right. Unfortunately you can't really change what has been recorded to the sensor or the film. Usually insufficient light causes blurred pictures. Next time try increasing the iso setting and/or steadying the camera on a wall or rail. Hope this helps :)
