I've just noticed the new pics also. Words can't express how quality that collection is, especially the Han and Leia. 8) 8) 8)
 
Been a while since I have picked anything up. I have been veryyyyy busyyyy in my life. I recently picked this figure up. I went on ebay, just browsing quick and landed on it. Even though it really isn't exactly my main focus it is still Meccano and relatively a hard piece to track down. It was on ebay as some of you may have seen and didn't go the distance as I made an offer. ( Sorry to anyone that was disappointed ) It has been resealed on the left side but was never opened on the right. I took a quick shot for you.

Just seen this thread.

Your figures are amazing. I've never seen any Meccano figures except the Jawa whom I find everywhere.

Why is the Jawa so common and the rest so rare?

Amazing collection.

WOW!!!! I love these square cards MOST!!!

These are freaking AWESOME...all in very good shape!!! Im sure it was a hell of a job to put these together.

On a side note: How come you dont have the most common ones (Jawa and Ben)??? Too boring???

I have only just caught this thread- that is a phenomenal collection you have there buddy.... There are so many beautiful figures- my favourite is the ig88, the bubble with the nipple on top is so wierd- I love it!!

Amazing achievement- how long have you been assembling these? I very rarely see a carded meccano, and when they do pop up on eBay they go crazy!

I am afraid that was opened and is a custom painted figure (look at the grey detailing on the figure)

Unfortunately if you made the seller a tempting buy out offer off of ebay to end early then I think the fault lies with you on this one..(I know the seller and he was shocked at your offer but to be honest, I would have accepted it too - the auction had a clear picture and the description read: "The bubble has been resealed on this one, but it still comes with a good figure and weapon. The bubble does have a crack in the top")

The bubble IS hard to find though, so it's not a total loss but you may want to put a non custom painted figure inside?
 
I also collect meccanos and know how hard to find these are and how expensive they are also ....

your collection is great, one of the best meccano collections I know.

Have banned him now, feel free to have a pop at him for being a ****!
 
Apparently none thankfully but I was surprised at this one, I didn't suspect it at all.

Will keep an eye on him periodically coming back now I have access to mod tools!
 
How do you guys work out which id's are John Walsh? He really is a ****, there's us guys really proud of even the smallest new piece we buy and he's there just showing of amazing stuff that's not even his. What a pleb!

Safe to say we use the latest in sniffer dogs and psychological profiling!
 
And Weasel personally flies out to investigate each and every new member ;) You know that feeling you get sometimes that you are being watched? :)

Yea it was a kind of thinking out loud question! How many different id's has he come up with now. You'd think he'd give up at some point.
 
I was just admiring a fantastic collection of rare meccano's and about to congratulate the owner on a superb achievement when I discover it's all false - collection not his, makes you wonder where he got the pic's from and even if they are real. :(
 
The meccano's look so cool, sad we do not know who the owner of them is and if they are real :cry:

this is such an amazing collection. its one of my favorite hat ive ever seen . the ig88 is stunning , :D :D amazing!!!!!!!!
