Hi
I'm trying to buy a suitable case/cabinet to display my childhood collection and i'm having a nightmare.
Based on your experiences please can you advise me what will work best.
I know it has been done by many people already but i'm thinking 6 rows of figures on a yellow background & framed by a thin black border. 5 rows for the 92+ (extra R2's, C3PO, etc) plus a spare shelf for any variants that i may eventually get.
I want the case to be mounted on the wall. Trying to find something that will fit them all in, has the right number of shelves and isn't too deep is proving very hard, so i have started to look at having one made specially, approx 100cm h x 100cm w or 120cm, internal shelf depth approx 8cm, height between 12cm.
There seems to be 3 main options
1: Custom built glass & aluminium display case (Expensive, heavy, not as good as acrylic?, internal lights not good for figures?)
2. Acrylic (expensive, could use external lights if needed, harder to create a black border to frame it)
3. Friend built combo of wood, glass or acrylic (cheaper?, unique, may look naff)
I'm sure many of you have seen what works best for a complete collection of loose figs, so I'm really just posting this to get your advice on what works and what doesn't. I've looked at hundreds oof display cases on here and rebel scum and its doing my nut in.
Please help.................
Thanks
Paul
