I won this figure at the weekend

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251044799460?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

When i paid, i specifically gave the message "Please ensure this item is well protected and not just put in an envelope"

I have just collected it from the post office and was immediately concerned that it was in a padded envelope. I began taking photos of the still sealed envelope (just in case). It was literally like pass the parcel, the padded envelope was in another padded envelope, with the MOC also wrapped in a sheet of bubble wrap. So at least the seller had made an effort.

I appreciate that the figure/bubble was never advertised as mint, there was no mention of cracks. Studying the bubble, now it appears that there may be a couple of small cracks in the bottom of the bubble, these are too small to feel as cracks and may just be creases, so it's not as bad as it could be. But it is bloody annoying, especially as i asked for it to be protected. :(

Ouch sorry mate, I have had my fair share of things turning up in plastic bags, padded envelopes and the like so I know it's not fun.

At least it was a bargain price for a hybrid BBG in the first place, perhaps you can get a partial refund and keep it as a place holder?

**** mate - that is always a worry with Ebay - especially if the seller isn't a collecotr

I always insist on a cardboard box - even if I have to pay extra

What a shitter. Same thing happened to me on eBay. When I told them, they said that the goods (figure) weren't damaged and as it was the packaging there wasnt anything they could do! It got resolved as it turned out to be a repro, but the fact that eBay didn't class the card/bubble as part of the item was worrying.

Lee has a point there - if you do ever open an Ebay case then you need to state that the item is damaged rather than the packaging - as long as you state that you wish to return it then Ebay should find in your favour

Stuff like that ****s me off, especially when you've asked them to package it properly. Next time specify a box!
I'd be looking a partial refund as Joe suggested, and would clearlP be begging the **** out of him.

That sucks. People are so ****ing stupid. I can only echo what others have said- leave him a neg (don't use foul language or anything inaccurate or ebay will remove it. Be smart.). Also i'd claim with ebay/paypal. state the item is broken and you'd like a full refund (don't say the packaging is damaged as ebay don't recognice the packaging as being part of the sale. As ridiculous as that is. ) If you're lucky you might get to keep the item.
In short, **** him in every way possible so he'll learn.

Thanks fellas,
lots of good advice there. Just a bit miffed. You think you have a reasonable deal; Hybrid Tri Logo, figure mint and you even stress, don't put it in an envelope!!

Sent a message to the seller explaining the situation, getting angry or swearing isn't my style.

Seller offered refund if i sent it back.

My issue is, i live miles away from a Post Office, i would have to pay for postage myself and the collector in me wouldn't want it to get even more damaged, so i'd have to source a box.

I raised a case (for the first time) suggesting that it is worth less now and i want a partial refund. I think thats fair.

I'll see what happens.

If you do wanna return it for a refund demand he pays postage as well as refunding original postage. Return postage is his responsibility not yours. You shouldn't be a penny out of pocket. If he doesn't like that then take it to ebay/paypal.

I'll see what he says.

But the good news...
... the good news is i'm in the middle of a deal with Tundra, and he is turning out to be a tip top gent of the highest order!!

its got to be worth the partial refund route, explain the bubble is now cracked due to it not being protected via a box, he wont be able to claim off royal mail, so maybe see what he says.

You can always open up a case and ask for say a 20% refund for the damage and ebay will most likely decide in your favour.
