A woman is up for the FIFA Puskas goal of the year award

Despite the fact that she is not up against world class opposition this girl shows us how it should be done, I had read about this a few times before viewing and IMO its as good as they say it is...

You might not want to vote for Stephanie but if you want to vote click here... http://www.fifa.com/ballon-dor/puskas-award/index.html

BTW my Auntie Paula used to score goals like that over the park every Saturday morning  she used to score every Saturday night too

Personally, I feel woman's football should get a hell of a lot more coverage than it currently does. Some of the matches I have watched have been just as good if not better than men's football. One thing I did note I they don't role around on the floor like babies when a challenge comes in.

I will give her my vote. Fantastic goal.

Only one thing can push womens football Chris, the fans.

I just can't see it happening though regardless of what FIFA or TV companies come up with. Its just so different from the mens game...

No diving
No swearing
No arguing with the referee
Sportsmanship
Wages similar to that of the common man
Decent ticket prices

the list goes on

Runner up...

I would be well pleased with that. How do upload a video from last weeks five-a-side to YouTube?

Do they swap shirts after the game?

It's a great goal, however as you can see in the video it appeared to be during an exhibition match or practice session, there is nobody there!

One thing people often forget is how much pressure 'professional' footballers are under. With 50,000 people calling you an ugly **** (Wayne Rooney) it can't be easy to pull off world class displays. I've seen plenty of people score amazing goals down the park or at school, I scored from a corner in a school match once! But they don't really count IMO.

Nah Edd, I think "the crowd" are in the same stand as the camera person. TBF, Irish League (the Norn Iron equivalent of the EPL) crowds are often no more than a 1000. So I dare say, considering it's a women's game, that level of attendance (or non attendance) is probably normal.

Yup, definitely a competitive game, I don't think it would be eligible otherwise as it is a FIFA competition so must be from a FIFA (or the Irish equivalent of the FA) registered game.

My only gripe is the goal keeper, a world class 6ft keeper may not have let the shot fly past them, it wasn't exactly top right corner. What a feat though, coming runner up in the World goal of the year competition...

It's women's footy. Come on, you can't really judge them by the standard of us men, I mean just look at what happens when they try to drive........

Ps, some Irish League action for you, this tap in was from a few years ago.

Yes it was a superb goal! It was also an offical match in one of the lower leagues.

Here you go

"Roche's spectacular effort in the Bus Eireann Women's National League was in front of an estimated 95 people on 13 October 2013."
