So after the recent addition of LOTJ playset that I am thrilled with and again cannot thank EOC enough for the wonderful gesture, I thought I would put a little info up for anyone interested. I am a complete amateur on researching and this is my first basic attempt, but there is some initial and interesting info around the playset. My newfound love of baggies as well links into this due to the piece being released with the Jawa baggie. I am over the moon with the piece added to my collection Enjoy....... The LOTJ Playset is one which a lot of collectors seem to stumble on to as the other playsets such as the Death Star and Hoth and Sears Cantina all seem to take the limelight, but in terms of collecting the LOTJ playset becomes a piece that collectors want, there are variations on the set and nuisances between them so I have put a little information together as below Kenner Land of the Jawas playset Produced 1978 Plastic base Sandcrawler cardboard backdrop Escape pod image by michael smith, on Flickr url=https://flic.kr/p/HZH1WJ]Kenner release LOTJ by michael smith, on Flickr Interestingly The base of the playset was remoulded in white and reused in the ESB Hoth Ice Planet and Sears Exclusive Rebel Command Centre. Kenner Canada had two special offers on this playset, in 1979 as a Sears Wishbook Exclusive, and packed in a carded Jawa Action figure in 1980, and as a K Mart exclusive a 41 back carded Yoda figure was packed, both offers promoted by unique stickers on the front. url=https://flic.kr/p/HZH1XW]LOTJ KMart with 41 back Yoda by michael smith, on Flickr UK Palitoy offered a different version that featured unique packaging that set the land of the jawas in the desert at night, produced in low numbers and very hard to find.
