Not hugely surprised, given how poor Liverpool have been this year, but equally I wouldn't have been surprised if he was given another year. Liverpool don't normally sack managers.

I'll have Uni Emery instead thanks, he says hoping big Ek doesn't get it!

I wonder how many managers have ever been sacked with their team in the final of the FA Cup ?

Then again, I wonder how many winners of the Champions League (if Chelsea do it) will have sacked their manager that season

after your earlier comments Weasel my youngest daughter is on a train to Liverpool right now

i thought he would of got another season ,bit sad really as if they coulld put ball in net rather then hit post it could of been different .though i was never to warm on idea of him coming back.i honestly dont know who they will get

I really hate all these dick head owners. There are about 20 teams in the premier league - how can they all finish top 3? Ask a manger to do his best and show steady improvement, sure (which I think Dalglish did.) But these dick heads like Abramovic that insist on a result that cannot be insisted upon are just morons.

Yeah, I see where you're coming from Edd. Owners do all expect top 4 finishes and obv only four sides can do that. I don't know that Liverpool were improving though. They had been unlucky in quite a few games, Kenny did have a point there. But performances were mediocre they lost 14 of 38 league games FFS! Kenny had a hundred million to spend last summer and the team scored fewer goals, won less games, got less, points and finished lower in the league. I'm still a bit surprised he was sacked, Liverpool don't normally sack managers, but given the return he delivered on the owners investment, I think they are entitled to expect better!
