Kenner 12" dolls

Hi guys ! I'm writing a feature about the 12" Kenner dolls for the TeeKay-421 Magazine (the Magazine of the Belgian Star Wars fanclub of which I'm the editor).

I'd like an idea on what they're worth today, both in loose and boxed condition and perhaps any particularities that I could mention in the article regarding collecting them.

Any help would be welcome since I don't want to just copy the values from one of the collector guides.

HI Tim,

I'm slowly trying to put a collection of these together, here's a guide on what I've paid for mine (all prices below are based on loose samples)

Luke - £35 (complete)
Vader - £25 (complete)
R2 D2 - £20 (complete)
C-3PO - £10
Boba Fett - £50-70 (I paid £50 for mine and it was mint but missing the Wookie braids)
Stormtooper - £25 (complete)
Jawa - £7 (missing blaster - would say a complete Jawa would run anywhere between £20 - £30)

As a guide and prices I've seen..
Han - £50 - £70
Leia - £50 - £60
Ben - £30-£40
IG-88 - £150+
Chewbacca - £50- £70

Things to look out for
Stormtrooper, these suffer from yellowing so a nice example can be tricky to come by. Also something that is missing 90% of the time is the small hoop of string that acts as a blaster holder
R2-D2 often missing the Death Star plans, as per the Stormtrooper he suffers from yellowing and chrome wear to the dome
Han - often missing the medal
Leia - more often than not missing the comb and donuts for her hair. The styling book is normally missing, I consider any doll without this, incomplete
Boba - lots of bits that are often missing but the jet pack can easily be damaged, the hooks on the pack are often broken so you need to watch out for that. boba also suffers more than most for hands dropping off!
IG-88 - Rare as hell but especially complete due to the amount of grenades that come with him. There are 4 grenades
Chewie - as per IG-88 the ammo pouches are normally missing there should be 17 of these.

To be fair I did state that the prices on the top of the list are what I've paid and I wish I could get chewie complete for £25 and IG complete for £100-125

Yeah they do fluctuate. I've done a lot of research on these over the last 2 months and have seen these at these prices a few times. When I get my ig88 I'm looking to pay £100-£120 max

Hi mate

Loose i believe the prices given are about correct, however the box with it but not complete add about £30 per figure. Mint unopened a whole new ball game and that depends whether you get, Kenner, Denys Fisher, Palitoy or whoever else did them..

Kenner is the cheapest box so i will do my estimates on this,

I've checked with a couple of 12" collectors who all say that Chewie came with 16 cartridges not 17. Were there different amounts for different types? We looked at a boxed DF and it had 16.
