John Mollo RIP

John Mollo, the Academy Award winning costume designer on Star Wars and The Empire Strikes Back, has died aged 86. He was responsible for designing many of the costumes for those films, including Darth Vader, Stormtroopers, Princess Leia and Han Solo, amongst many others, adapting Ralph McQuarrie’s brilliant concept art. His influence on the Star Wars universe was enormous, and continues to be felt to this day. Without him, Star Wars, and the figures we collect, simply would not have looked the same.
