Imperial Probe Droid Project

Tom (@Yodas Hovel) and I decided to make a Probot cardback,

Here is my attempt ...

and heres Toms ...

As you can see Tom is a little more advanced than i am, and has all the tools for the final product (the lucky git) :wink:

My mistake was that i didnt have the probe droid to size up the figure areas dimensions (infact i completely forgot about it haha), oh well it still looked kinda nice but jeez will ya look at Toms 8)

I think the card looks better without the probe droid on it. It's too big to go on a card IMO.

If it was me...I would make a custom box for this in the vintage format rather than a cardback, as that is most likely how kenner would have released this, If they had released it as a single toy (Kinda like Mini-rigs)...Just my opinion.

Noooo a cardback is much nicer and fits in with your current cards

A box wouldnt be much fun (not for me anyway lol).

Or you could make a open face box with insert and bubble like Max rebo band or the Three packs, I just think a general size figure cardback is way to small for this guy. Glad to see Tom has come back to life.

Yeh i actually think a box would be cool but were cardback makers so it had to be on card, a custom sized card would probably have been better so you could see the photo images more but no worries.

Yeh i chat to Tom daily on msn so ill make sure hes more active for ya

That droid is way too big for that cardback, a more compact one would look much better.

I think a couple of inches taller and maybe 3 or 4 wider and it would be a nice fit and show the artwork better, Tom also said similar but no worries, not bad for a few hours messing around i guess.

He's a talented guy, i've seen his stuff on the ebay. What the quality of his cardbacks like compared to original ones?

The quality is decent. They are not 100% on due to being glossier, but his blisters are 100% the same to the originals.

Probably ... but were gonna tweak what we have and stay with the card, spent a few hours messing with that - might as well finish it

Ill post up my final once its on the card.
