:D Hey

well after seing afew of the collections on here this is gonna be funny, but first i need to explain a few things, with the exception of two figures these are the toys i got when i was a kid, and i always had them, hence the lack of hands on c3po and the wrecked R2.

but anyway its kinda a good way of showing where i am starting from and i will give a little bit of info on the figs for all fans of variations and coo etc.

Vechicles to follow,,, and oddities. :p
oddities and vehicles added and I am still diggin

loose figures;

C3-PO with a metal rivet in his back ? - hong kong/gmfgi/1977 luke tantoonine - hong kong/gmfgi/1977 the worst condition R2 you have ever seen - hong kong/gmfgi/1977.

as i said only what i already had but finding them in the attic and recently watching the movies again, (only the old ones, not the new muck) i kinda realised i never really had many figures and less ships, so i decided to get all the ones i thought were cool and never had,,,,damn it i thought a lot of them were cool, this could get outta hand.

No need to worry about the size of your collection Steve, everyone has to start somewhere plus not many of us still have their childhood collection so i'm quite envious! :D

Some of your figures are in excellent condition too! :D

Hey thanks,

Yeah I have no idea what happened to 3-PO , could have been a toothing younger sibling, he could have been on holiday in saudi Arabia and stole something

I still have the vehicles and books to be photoed and I am trying to find the damn star wars passport. What was the deal with them , I can't remember I might have won it? Also what the he'll does gmfgi mean ? Drivin me nuts. Also china , Taiwan,Macau, hongkong ? Why so many coo's

Thanks Steve?

Imperial - I second the comment about 'no need to apologise'.

I'd have rathered have my original ones and built from there as you are. Maybe think of your original ones as IMP NUT variants ;)

Think my original toys were handed down to my cousin, whose Dad in turn handed them over to barnardos when he'd grown up. Anyone ever found a good stash in a second hand store, I'm led to believe those days are gone now. I had a dream once and I'd found a whole load in a second hand store, forgot about that dream till now. Something wrong with me, used to dream about banging gorgeous models and the like, now its about finding a mint Slave and Tie fighter and the guy selling them being clueless!

Funny side story about my childhood figs, my Dad (hellbent on me not losing any of them when playing at friends) used to cut a little triangular wedge from the underside of their feet, only seen from the underside.

Lemme know if anyone has one....I want em back ;)

Just to put you at ease - gmfgi - general mills fun group incorporated.

NIce start to your collection and as many have said i am also jealous that you still have your childhood figures.

Steve

a great start - and as the others have said, all the better for being your original toys 8)

Hey
Thanks again for the help with the gmfgi thing.

As i said these are the toys i have always had and i dug em up while moving house and that kicked off the idea of getting the ones that i never had as a kid.
The strange thing i vividly remember is never being able to buy an interceptor or certain figures in ireland, probably cause of demand (ireland was down on the shipping list) or by the time i got to a shop they were gone.

Jimmymindtricks, yeah it's crap that i dont have an encyclopedic knowledge of every star wars figure, but i dont need too, cause i just like the ones i like, and thats it.
And no i am not serious , as there are more important things in life than tiny antique plastic figures.
However i do love star wars and i was born in '77 and all my childhood years were spent trying to get more than a literal handful of figures together, i even made a death star out of a styrofoam block aged 8 ??

So maybe i dont know off the top of my head all the names and variations of Weequay or Ree-Yees (did i pronouce that correctly?) or i fluffed up typing SEE-THREEPIO (C-3PO) .

BUT even if i did it didnt deserve your response, so lighten up, and try a see things from my perspective, i said i am new to this??

Steve

Hey

ok Another box and more stuff, not all of it is figures or vehicles but some of it might be of interest and some is just odd.
One or two things i would like to know , the small shuttle ? i am sure i have the bits in other boxes but i have never seen one on any site ?
Also the AT-AT does anyone have spare bits lying around or do they come up for sale?

Most things i have owned from when them i got it as a kid,, except the stortrooper picture which idrew in school .

ok some battered vechicles first.

steves003-1.jpg

A tired looking AT-AT and box, it was cheap and i am looking to get bits, its also a bit lame.

steves005-1.jpg

A pair of AT-ST's , both of which are pretty much complete, but one has diy battle damage, again not my fault, likely culprit is younger brother.

steves008.jpg

Vaders tie, both wings (solar panels) dont click in so i will have too glue them in for display but again one of my only toys i wanted and actually got as a kid. them my dad sat on it accidentally.

steves009.jpg

Rebel snowspeeder, with bits missing , again if anyone has cannons taking up space in their collection???? oh and rear glass insert, needs a clean too.

steves020.jpg

Small ships i found down the end of an old school bag, all missing everything, the shuttle puzzles me i have not seen it for sale of in anyones collections, and i dont remember a one seater in the films?? they were always the bigger variety?

steves018.jpg

Ok from here on in its the oddments, but i am still finding things, there are at least 4/5 figures i remember having but cant find (i am sure i had a bobba fett that had the shooting rocket back-pack 80% )
And a star wars passport that i won.

So thats it for now,, i will keep diggin things out, and if anyones got any observations or background on the above stuff let me know..

cheers

steve

The little shuttle is the imperial shuttle pod ISP-6 http://www.rebelscum.com/vintminiISP6.asp
the diecast landspeeder is just that. Spare bits for an At-At can be hard to find- but they do show up. You're not the only one to think they had a rocket firing Boba fett (we were ALL dreaming!!)

Thanks
for the info on the shuttle, yeah i can pretty much say my fett was a normal fett, but once i checked the variations on some folks posts i saw the one i had with gap around the rocket in the jetpack which looks like the rocket could come out.
So thats what made me think that.

The star wars passport is still lurking in a box somewhere though gotta dig that out.

steve

They all have the gap around the rocket and the rocket is glued in place.

  yep case in point i am still as green as,, was there not one with a rocket as part of the back pack,,???

again based on memories as opposed to actually knowing what i am talking about. :p

Thanks

steve

:p it been interesting, just when i thought i have got loads of stuff i see someone else HUGGGEEE collection, but it just encourages me

any way

some new ties ,and speeder bikes, most of you will have already seen these as i have avoided wee-bay and only bought from folks on here, GOOD ADVICE FOR ANYONE JUST STARTING

apologies for i phone pics but i will do a proper set when some other things arrive next week. Oh yeah and forgive me for the modern tie,
IMG_0367.jpg

the vader tie is my childhood one the two interceptors are new and one boxed, and the white tie is new along with the bikes. they range from really nice condition to ok with missing mechs or decals.

IMG_0366.jpg

I am getting one or two modern "spit" things like an imperial shutttle as i dont have the cash just yet to go vintage on something like that. For now i am hitting the loose imperials.

Dude welcome and collection growing nicely, Don't worry about Jimmy, his bark's worse than his bite :p

yeah its kinda weird jimmy is a skateboarder like me, but too be fair i really did get about 6 names wrong, and i mean well wrong.
Ah well i know what MISB means and what a 77 back is.

but it is great when you open a box from somewhere and there is a ship you never had as a kid and the box that you stared at in the store. I dont reckon there will ever be a toy collection to match the excitement and for me the difficulty to find.
when i was a kid it was harder to get the toys than it is for me now, the uk/france gobbled up almost all the supply,or so i was told and it was that way until ROTJ and our shops were packed full of ewoks and rancor keepers which no one wanted.

got a few more ties on the way then figures.
