Nice find, are there duplicates of the over-sized US volumes?

I know in the US marvel released a volume 3, but I'm pretty sure that contained all the contains of volumes 1 & 2, never seen this in the UK though.

No kiddin I was reading these today - something special about reading old comics on a hot summers day, really reminds me of being a kid :D

Love these specials, remember the 1st time I read them I couldn't believe how much of the story had been cut from my old Brown Watson Annual so was great to see all the extra art work.

I only collect the us and the danish comics. But is the stories in the us comics the same as the ones in all the uk comics ?

Yes, but the cover artwork was occasionally created by Marvel UK, with such comic legends like John Higgins. Mark Newbold recently interviewed Dez Skinn, who was brought on board to manage Marvel UK at the time of Star Wars. I think it may be on the official blog now?

We had several stories created by Archie Goodwin and drawn by Carmine Infantino that were U.K Exclusives to Star Wars Weekly; The Day After the Death Star, Way of the Wookiee, The Weapons Master and World of Fire. They were released in America as paperback sized digests. We also got two stories from Pizazz magazine; The Kingdom of Ice and Fugitives in Space.

ESB Monthly of course contained a whole load of exclusive U.K stories mainly by Alan Moore and Steve Moore.

I took a picture of my large format U.S Star Wars adaptation. I've never seen it as a U.K price edition.

Craig.
