How to stop google ads related to my search activity?

Hey Fellas,

First let me start by saying NO I'm not getting google ads that are Porn related :lol:

Here's the thing, my wife turns the big 40 next year and as a surprise for her Birthday I'm going to restore without her knowledge her 1969 VW Beetle which is currently in storage on a mates farm. This car means a lot to her as it was her first car as well as her Grandmothers last car, the last time it was driven was back in 2005 on our wedding day as our wedding car. No brakes and all :lol: :?

Anyway I've digressed enough, the reason I want to get rid or these search related Google ads is that I'm currently covertly looking for certain parts for the car to start the resto but thanks to GOOGLE all website ads are now showing items that have Volkswagens in them. Cars sales suggestions with VW Beetles showing up on every bloody page I look at, won't be long before she notices and asks why which will spoil the whole surprise. **** You Big Google Brother, technology is great until you realise it can lead to **** like this.

Any suggestions would be very much appreciated, I'm on a Mac using Google Chrome if that's of any help.

don't know the answer to that Ryan, but just buy her an ipad so she won't use the computer to go on the internet anymore....

Then you will see this, click the link (opt out):


Click opt out and you should be done, you will still receive some ad's but they should not be targeted towards your search history.

Opt out of Ads on Google and Google ads across the web for better results.

Use opera. And then do delete private data after you have used it. Safe as houses.

Thanks heaps fellas, I've adjusted the Google setting so I'll see if that helps.

I'll start a fresh thread when I get started, here's a pic of the last time the old girl was in action, a couple of months later she was retired to the barn to keep my mates NSU Prinz micro car company for the next 9 years. German engineering prowess in all it's glory, man time has flown!

Sweet love VW's have had a few myself. Was brought home form hospital when I was born with my bro in a bug, had campers growing up too. This was my last one had to go when my second daughter was born sadly

Probably the most iconic car on the road for sure, every country in the world would have a Beetle on the road somewhere. Always wanted a split window Kombi, prices just for a shell alone these days are astronomical.

You could also use an anonymous browsing tab on whichever browser you are using when you are searching for the present. In chrome you can open one by pushing CTRL+Shift+N, in Firefox by pushing CTRL+X I think.
