Hey, Anyone ever had someone from the states help them out with an ebay deal?? ie, an ebay seller that won't ship to the UK?
There's something i desperately want to bid on but the sale says no international bidders. Any idea?

I am in the same boat Pete, just found 2 items I want with the same deal & you can't even contact the seller through ebay - never had that before.

I was considering asking someone about the possibility of them getting it sent to them & then sending it over, but its a lot to ask someone you have never met init. :(

Yeah ebey stops you from contacting a seller who won't deliver to your country. However, there is a way around this.
You need to copy their ebay name then delete your cookies for that web-site. Then do an advance search for the seller and go into his profile and "contact". Don't attempt to contact him after viewing his sale as it will lock you out again. As insane as this sounds, it works.

No problem. I figured out that trick a while back getting frustrated with being "locked-out" and not able to even contact sellers to ask if they will deliver to me. The infuriating thing about the "lock-out" is that most sellers have "no international postage" listed just because that's the default set up. Most will deliver to you. You just need to ask. Sadly a lot of americans are under some sort of delusion that they will have to deliver the package themselves and so still say no. I'll never figure that out. I'm lucky tho as my postal service does most of the journey. I just have to get it to the counter at the post office and they take it the rest of the way. It's a revolutionary idea!

Some folks on ebay are just plain out & out dumb, some can't be bothered & some feel they are going to have there pants pulled down on a deal, I can sort of see there point in not wanting to get stitched up, but just ask that the buyer only be allowed postage internationally if they are willing to pay for insurance.

I know what you mean about revolutionary idea - just hasn't got this far yet as I'm in wales

That lock out think is a right PITA, so thank you for sharing Pete
