I first started collecting Vintage Star Wars about 7 yrs ago, since then my focus has gradually turned from Star Wars to other lines like Super Powers, M.A.S.K., A-Team , Knight Rider, basically anything 80's and TV or Movie related.

Then I found this forum, seeing the enthusiasm you guys show regarding your collecting has turned my focus back to Star Wars again and I'm considering selling off my other collections to get back on track with the Star Wars obsession.

Good idea, bad idea or no idea ,what do you guys reckon?

I know this sounds stupid but as collectors I'm sure you all know how easy it is to get attached to things you've worked so hard to find.

Sometimes others opinions can help make hard decisions a little easier to make.

Thanks in advance, Ryan :D

Wow sounds you do collect some really nice 80s stuff. Do you have pics of your collection. It´s always great to see pics from 80s Stuff.

If you can afford it keep it all !! Do you have it all displayed? Anything stuck in boxes that you have not looked at for a while- sell. If it is all on display- slowly box up individual collections. The ones you miss - keep, the ones you don't - sell. Sell the stuff you'll make the most profit from and/or the stuff you think you could replace again for the same money in the future. It is a good time to be buying Star Wars ( prices are down for most things ) & our dollar is strong. I'd still want to keep at least one key item(s) from each line of toys.

AJ makes a very good point there, keep the one item from each line that means the most to you, I used to have lots of little collections and sold pretty much everyting to fund the start of my vintage SW collection. There are now however 1 or 2 items that I miss and will probably end up buying again at some point.

I generally only sell things that are relatively easy to replace. A lot of expensive things turn up daily on Ebay, where as some things may not be expensive but are super rare.

I recently sold my loose collection because I needed funds. I didn't particularly want to, but I know I'll have no trouble putting a similar set together again in future.
