I'm selling some bits on ebay at the mo (nothing exciting, just some modern stuff). But one of my items has a top bidder apparently based in Switzerland whose account is pretty much 12345678910 (not exactly that but you get the picture) and they have 0 feedback. Crucially they're account was created today.

It ends in about an hour but can I deleted this guys bid?? It's skewed my auction like a bitch and I really don't trust it. I also worry that a person who appears to be genuine has been trying to outbid him and gave up.

I have a lot of customers with zero feedback. Doesn't always mean they're up to no good. Some people sign up just to buy something as a one off.
If it does make your nervous you can set your auctions so that people with zero feedback can't bid.

Yeah I understand that. My concern was the user name of '12345678910' which didn't suggest 'barry making his first ebay purchase'.

I've cancelled their bid. I am tempted to contact the next bidder to explain but would this all sound really weird? I've seen that they were trying to outbid the person but gave up after a certain point. Seems a bit unfair on them.

Basically just sent a message to the guy (hoping he's online) and explained whats happened and said if he wants to retract or for me to delete to let me know. Bit of a mess. Or am I just being uber-paranoid? (fairly n00bish when it comes to selling).

Possibly being a bit uber paranoid. We all started somewhere on ebay so having no feedback doesnt mean you are going to rip people off.

I've been selling all my lego lately and to be honest most of the bidders have had less than 30 feedback, had quite a few with 0 - 2 as well. You just have to trust the bidder but I will admit it can be nerve racking given the whole stigma around people with less than 10 feedback.
