just got round to cutting lawn .though there are ****ing dandylions all over it .only had it a few years and it was weed free and i have weed and feeded it yet this year its been invaded by them horrible bastards and a few nettles .fair enough it got long and there is nothing i can do against nature blowing seeds aroud "bitch"but does anyone know of anyway to clear them with out going round and digging them all out by roots

Not entirely sure, but I think so.
That's what my folks use on their garden.
You can get a substance/liquid that kills weeds but acts as a fertilizer for grass. No idea what it's called but I've seen my ma using it on the grass. Not entirely sure if it's kiddie safe though!

or one of them spot weed 'pens' might do the trick
