I have a new appreciation for our forum. I spent sometime on one of the Vintage Facebook groups and I have to say the amount of morons, retards and just general meth addicts on there is astounding. I have a new respect for my fellow members here. Hell...I even have a new respect (Although limited) for Rebelscum. It is scary the amount of collectors (or ones that think they are) out there that do not have a clue or do not wish to have one.

When you see comments like the following:

"All Star Wars is vintage"

"If it says "Vintage" on the package, it is vintage"

"It is vintage because is was made 19 years ago and therefore was manufactured between 1977-1985"

"Come on...it's a star wars group...lets just post anything we want...as long as it says star wars"



It tends to make you appreciate even the worst members we have had on here. It was doing my head in. :lol: :lol:

Not a keyboard warrior...there are actually a few of them I would kick in the teeth personally If I met them.

Your a brave man Todd, I won't even contemplate going on them as I can have a short fuse when it comes to folks who can't see the wood for the trees & don't want to either.

I already greatly appreciate what we have here as I use a great many forums for other interests & only one of them comes anywhere near close to this one, really a great bunch here for the most part, but every forum has its exceptions, speaking of which when are you going to **** off :lol:

Facebook and the like is great for those that want to and enjoy using it, personally for me it's a no go, as its populated by too many muppets.

This is the only forum I use ( I am a member of RPF...but don't post)

99.9% of the regular posters on SWFUK form a genuine community, that share a common interest, varying degrees of knowledge from the beginners to the masters. We all bring something to the table.
I for one am so glad I found my way on here, ( maybe a few wish I hadnt :lol: ...but in your words Frank they can F^%k off as well :lol: )

I have made several genuine friends on this forum, and everyone seems to have common sense, decency and tolerance which I don't think it's the same on Facebook...but then again I don't use it.

As any member that takes the time will see.
There are masters and padawans, who all have a say,
One thing in common, we can't keep the SW bug at bay.
I for one though am happy that facebook and the like exist,
For reasons too many now to begin to list.
The main one for me though, top of the list by far,
The nutters and trolls ......we know where they are :wink:

im sick to **** of the facebook group, and probably gonna leave it as majority of the posts are utter bollocks, i dont want to see someones jar jar binks figures, or see the same things repeated over and over again lol

With the exception of Todd's I don't think i'm in any of the FB groups anymore. Might be in Nerd Alliance but they never post anything anyway. Another one I found recently was for film locations. Quite interesting but again, they don't post much.

Too much bickering on FB. Stick to SWFUK. It reminds me of Cheers a bit :lol:

I bother with Todd's group, Adam's Echo place which is moderated well and Joe Y's bootleg group.

The rest are pretty **** or repetitive.
