I have been collecting vintage from about 92-93. I always heard rumors at shows about a guy that found a full case still sealed at store's stockroom. However I never really seen the guy that found them. Its always "I know this guy" thing. Now around 92-94 I could see maybe finding a case of POTF or maybe Jedi but now it's so long ago I doubt it. Has anyone seen a sealed case of vintage?

many times - it's why you get so many case fresh mini rigs and German MOCs

12 backs and things pop up form time to time in the states, but I'm not sure a sealed case of Palitoy has been found in recent years

There was a case(s) of palitoy ROTJ boba fetts, c3-p0 and hoth snow troopers given the amount of AFA 85/90's on the go!

:)

Right around 2000 Brian from Brian's Toys was contacted from a man from a church. In the late 80s the church was given 100s of cases of ROTJ Vaders, Luke Jedis, and Tri Pod Laser Canons. I bought about 500 of them. It has to be the largest find in the last 10 years. It was awesome!

Wow :D I knew there were cases knocking around, I didnt know Brian bought them from a church! Maybe I should go and see the vicar- I feel like converting
I wonder if this story is connected to the Irish 3 packs?

 Irish 3 packs?

In Ireland in a lot of the country towns we have old toy shops sometimes they have been the same for 40 years if there is any dusty boxes of stock it's in them,,,,, or at least I keep thinking.

Wasn't a box of VC jawas found once?

Yup,in a cinema in the USA.IIRC they were given out free back in the day, with a token or something like that.I have also seen in person,a sealed pack of Meccano jawas, but its not as if they are rare

Toytoni had LOADS of sealed Palitoy cases.Due to his business boom(and great forsight)he is now running low.Thay guy was very clever back in the day,and decided to gamble on SW making a comeback, and by was he right.Fair play to him.

sorry - I meant proper Palitoy, with the logo

Hey Chris,

I didnt spot them- I've only ever seen two sell on eBay in two years- both had a Tri logo fett and sold for over £500!!

I think they are fantastic! Can you remember what figure combo it was mate?
The bounty hunters set is the dogs

Hey Ed, here are the auction links for the Irish Space Figure 3 packs that I was talking about.

The First set contained: The Emperor, R2 Sensorscope and Nien Nunb and sold for £277

The Second set contained: Dengar, C-3PO Removable limbs and Lando Calrissian and sold for £355

It is possible that the distributor did indeed put together certain "Sets" for example "Creature Sets" or "Bounty Hunter Sets" to start off with and then when the number of figures started to dwindle it became impossible to do so in which case more ecclectic combinations like the ones seen above were produced. Although I may be wrong Ed, it would seem to me that not all these packs were necessarily bunched together in specific sets so to speak. Another set I have seen contained the Light Blue Fett, Anakin and one other. It is also possible that the example on SWCA owned by Ron Salvatore is more of a lucky selection process. Again, I could be wrong. What is interesting is that of the sets I have seen the figures seem to be packaged with the correct weapons. This is something that didn't seem to happen on the rather cheaply produced 2 packs with oversized bubbles that carried the Kenner Logo. Whoever produced these in Ireland seemed to have a fairly decent knowledge of the toy line.

They are in lovely condition, I would say the price seems pretty fair. Not the most attractive figure combos though!

I wonder if all the figures that came in the three packs were from baggies? Maybe these were the left overs from the Woolworths 10 packs that were left over?

As for if the selection was random thats a good question. The people that actually commissioned these three packs must have had some knowledge, it would appear that where they could group them they have- maybe towards the end of manufacturing they just threw any old combo together to get rid of them. A little bit like the tri logo miscards.
I get the feeling these were pound shop fodder...It would be awesome to stumble on these at retail! 99p
Is anything known about where they were made, who made them, who commissioned them?
Interesting lot

I managed to find these other examples on SWCA mate but I will try to delve deeper to find out where and why these originated. My fear is that because they were unlicensed groupings of figures little info. will come to light. On two of the sets below there is a "Return of the Jedi" theme but on the first set Anakin is teamed up with Han Solo and Hammerhead! Lol. I will try to find out some more info. if at all possible but Im certainly not gonna hold my breath.

I also found this example sold in 2008 for £280.

Note the Toys R Us price sticker bottom left. Maybe it wasn't poundland fodder?

However it looks like it did have a 99p price tag!!
