there was one just like that on ebay a couple of weeks ago, it was being sold with a taun taun that also had a different paint job. I asked the seller about the origin of the figures and she said it was probably done by her boyfriend as a kid.

she wasn't sure though, but I wasn't prepared to take the gamble

Fett came out early in the US because he appeared in their holiday special, before esb.

Over here he was a mail away during the early ESb days. Was eventually released on the 30b back.
