First of I need to say there way no real harm done here but I am a touch frustrated.

I came home from work today to discover my 8 year old and one of her friends had let themselves into my SW room and opened up a pair of FX lightsabers, worse of all having discovered they didn't work (no batteries) they then discarded them on the ground to leave me to stumble across them...

I am sure this is a common issue.

Crap! You might still be able to get some money for them on ebay?

..and once you've sold the kids, stick the sabers on display

I'm certain I have this to come, fortunately at the minute I have a SW shelf rather than room but its the top one and the boy is not quite 2 so unless he goes all King Kong it should be fine :?
Glad nothing got damaged though buddy.

Much calmer this morning, they were destin for display once the final shelves go up so no big issue, I think it was the first time my daughter has really done some good she knows she shouldn't and then didn't admit it, which I guess is more a right of passage parenting thing to go through than a Star Wars thing.

My wife suggested a lock, but I don't think that is right, that would only make them want in more (do not feed the Bears... Do not press the big red button...)

Anyway off to try and find a Rey figure now and think about buying some new SW Lego tomorrow when the new sets come out.

It could have been worse mate, you could have come home to find your 12 back R2 lying loose on the lounge floor no longer on it's card..!

You've got to watch nippers, they're curious and where toys are involved they're going to want to touch them and play with them. That's the reason I've got all mine in cabinets with doors. Mine's only a little-un at the moment but she's getting bigger so soon I'm going to put two bloody great locks on the cabinet doors. Another good thing I do is give them something similar so they've got their own. My little-un's got a plastic saber and a tub of beaters so she doesn't really want mine.
