I don't normally do introductions, I just show up one day and start posting, usually. But as eventually I may be looking to use the valuation/sale sections of the forum in future, it would be rather rude not to extend some form of initial contact and make an attempt to participate in forum discussions (and not just because the T&C says I should).
Chances are I may choose to take a different path with these ships later down the line, but I'd rather be ready to go down either path when the time comes than have hurdles in the way.
