Being a new collector to the vintage line, can anyone give me any ideas as to where I can find vintage figures for sale/trade other than eBay?

I'd appreciate any responses, all help is gladly received!

Thanks!

Hey buddy,
The best thing to do is look on the forum or put up a want list of exactly what sort of figures you're after. You likely get a few responses for general loose stuff. Other than that ebay is a decent way to pick up loose cheap figures.
When i stared i found sellers with lots iof good quality loose stuff and bought 4 or 5 at a time to save on shipping.
leah's toys have a lot of loose stuff for sale and you can get in touch with them through here or ebay. I think they're called rangersjedi or something on here. I'll check.

Hope that helps.

edit: yeah, rangersjedi they sell a lot of loose figs.

I second what James said. Always buy conmplete figures and make sure the weapons aren't repro. Ask the seller and if in doubt ask on here too.
Check this site to see what figures are supposed to look like and what accessories they are supposed to have http://www.rebelscum.com/VINfigures.asp

Definitely don't rush and put in lots of bids on eBay.

The guys on here are a reliable (though slightly strange) bunch who can be trusted to offer you accurate figures at a fair prices so I'd try and get as many as you can from here or similar forums.

Secondly i'd consider trying to get to a show of some kind, where you can see things first hand.

eBay is always an option, and anything you see on there on which you are not sure, you can post a link here or pm it to people to check it's ok.

Collecting is great fun. I'd recommend taking a look at people's collections on here to get an idea of what can be done with it.

Being a member of a collectors forum is definitely the best way to develop both your knowledge and your collection.

Hey there and welcome to the forum! :D

Gary has made some very good points. Going to shows is always good. Great to see exactly what you are buying first hand. Sometimes show prices can be a bit expensive but you can normally haggle a bit especially ifyou are buying a few.

Just so you know, I have pretty much a full set of loose complete figures for sale right now including most of the last 17. I would be more than happy to help, even if you weren't to buy from me. 8)

You will find people on here are will be more than happy to help get you started. But beware its very hard to turn back once youve got the collecting bug. There are more than a few people on here who can testify to that :D

Chris.

Thanks for the really warm response, guys! I must say that I wasn't expecting so many kind replies in such a little space of time! I really appreciate it!

I'll put a list up in the 'Wanted' section in a bit. I'm so glad everyone is so happy to help.

By the way, I know how addictive collecting can be - I have been collecting Doctor Who figures for the past 4 years. It's so time and money consuming, but at the end of the day, I think you'll agree, collecting anything you like is most definitely worth it!

Thanks again guys!
