If anyone could help with a valuation on a GM FX-7 C9 ungraded this would be a great help. I know what I paid for it but the market's changed since so not sure.

Thank you.

Not too sure Ham, you can get them from toytoni's site as you know, but as you say the market has changed a bit.
Personally I really like the GM 45bks but they dont seem that popular.

In what way has the market for General Mills minty MOCS changed?

I think Ham meant the market in general, not specifically GM cards,at least that's how I read it :?

On any card you would probably pay a premium for an original Han or Ben or Chewy say but the fx-7 along with the IG88 are the two most expensive on Toni's site. I can only presume they are considered more scarce than the others he has

Ah right. Are things that different then? I haven't honestly noticed anything major in the last 6 months- 1 year?

i think a lot of buyers have flooded ebay with GM trying to make a profit on them, they seem to stand still for a long time, now most people know that ungraded they are £80-£130.

I personally really like them.

Yeah me too Andy, I like them that much that I bought a load from Toni not so long back.

It still amazes me when folk pay £200+ from Robbie just cause it's AFA 85. Fair do's to the guy though making a decent profit each time

Yeah meant the market in general which has been a rollacoaster over the last year. Just take the VCJ's for instant, recently on Ebay an AFA85 one went for £250 in Jan then a month later same, AFA85 but this time sold for £530!! :?

It's all about the timing I guess.

If I was buying one Ham, knowing that Toni probably has a garage full I wouldn't pay more than £150 for one. Regardless of AFA prices or the fact that he sells them for quite a bit of cash on his site.

As for the Vintage market, it's always been WEIRD and depends on too many factors.

Although I honestly believe market value can't always be determined by these random anomalies or funny trends, with a trend there is always going to be a point where the market is saturated and prices come down (Like Andy mentioned), so if you were caught up in it and grabbed them at their highest price you will inevitably have lost money whereas others who got in early or waited for it to pass will buy things at more reasonable prices.

As for AFA graded figures going for X amount one week and double or triple the next - That's just down to people bidding that either have had one too many or have no idea

You know yourself that the REAL price of a loose mint VCJ (that would probably grade 85) is a lot less than £530 and if you were to grade all of yours at 85 you probably couldn't sell them all for £530 on ebay because people would see 4-5 AFA 85 Jawas listed and think - wow not so rare after all? so it can only be a random uneducated buyer or someone who has been at the drink lol!

Personally I understand paying through the nose for quality IF it's super hard to find the item in good condition period. When you know there are loads out there in solid C9 it kinda defeats the point of paying more for something just because it looks nice. Reminds me of the Zebra from Madagascar when he meets all the other Zebras and realises he isn't so special after all

 @ the Madagascar comment.

Cheers for you views Joe. Agreed on the fact I would never sell a load of graded VCJ's on Ebay as not only will people think ah not so rare (maybe) but also the fact that if there were say two high bidders then it would just give them more of a chance to get one at a lower price instead of a bidding war on just the one.

It's a funny ol' game. :)
