R5 is going to need a lot of love to get past the most consistent figure in this competitions history. R5 topped his qualifying group this year, then destroyed Amanaman 46-13, but without a doubt will need much more to progress. Although eliminated in 2nd round in 2014 and 1st round last year, he did have a wondrous run to the semi finals back in 2015. He will be needing that sort of form here.
As for his opponent, Hoth Stormie topped a very difficult group which included Vader and saw defending champion ERG get eliminated, to go alongside that he then beat popular Luke X-Wing 43-23, a very convincing performance. Hoth Stormie was twice runner up in this competition in 2014 and 2015 and a beaten semi finalist in 2016. Can he go all the way? Can the droid with bad motivator prevent him? Time will tell.
