Following on from the car thread I figured a motorbike & push bike thread would be good,
I know the thread would not have as many of you posting if it was just motorbikes so I figured add pedallers in as well, but I know there are a few bikers on here & your first can't be worse than mine

First bike if you can class it as such  Yamaha Passola - what a heap of **** this was, but it got me to work, de restricted it & got a whopping 44mph out of it downhill

First real bike almost & not much better Yamaha RXS 100 with a whopping top speed of about 70 ball out

& then I passed my test, saved my nuts off & got me this baby, never rode another bike thats handled as well & IMO it styling & road handling is tough to beat, also the first ever two stroke 250 to do the Ise of man TT at over 100mph average speed the Yamaha TZR 250, has to be the blue & yellow one though as it looks pants in red & white IMO.

First decent pushbik I had & loved the grifter, took it to Germany when we moved there as a kid & it lasted 3 days before being stolen, everyone wanted it as BMX's had not come out then & there was nothing like it available there, I still miss it as I had a lot of fun on that bike.

Then I got me one of these one Christmas a few years later & nearly killed myself daily trying to do stupid stunts  the Tough Burner, fond memories

 I bet you picked up all the girls with the Passola Frank, funny the bikes you'd be willing to ride as a young'n. Anything to get that feeling of independence with a motor.

Those TZR's are a weapon, a mate of mine uses one as a track bike. All the sunday warriors out on their R1's pass him on the straight then he reels them in through the twisty's only to start the chase again when the reach the straight once more. Very much underestimated bike.

This was my first, Yamaha MX80. Great fun out on the farm.

Next a GT185 2 stroke, not much fun on wet tram tracks

Then a GN250, did my first big trip on this bike up the East coast of OZ. great fun for a single cylinder.

First big bike once off my L PLates was this pile of ****, Honda VF750 Sabre. Over complicated electrics as it was one of the first bikes to sport an LCD screen on the speedo. Failed on me on a 40 degree day going through a tunnel.

DR650 was a mates but I borrowed it for a year of commuting, great fun and if I ever get another bike it'll be one of these.

GSX750F decided to ruin this one with some shitty airbrushing, still see it around the traps from time to time.

1978 Honda GL1000, probably my favourite of the bunch. Highly underrated bike and starting to become quite collectable, beautifully balanced with it's flat four.

Not much to talk about as far as pushies for me, I kept falling off them which thankfully I stopped doing when I moved onto the motorised type.

Ahh I loved the Grifter Frank! Especially second gear - the "slip" gear. Pedal > pedal faster > change to second > slip > knee yourself in the face. Such character :)

Had a Raleigh burner in red and gold then a Raleigh maverick moutain bike .never been in to motor bikes prob dues to my only experiance.i was bout 18 was at sisters house smokin few funny fags when I blagged ago on her then boyfriends bike.a gilerra 125 .if I spelt it right. Never been on a bike before no licence or insurance.got told to just go round block . I went about 5 miles away and crashed it in a posh little village.i gets back up to be surrounded by people saying I cant go anywhere .thinking they were calling old bill I said why not.because you got no front wheel .............good point lol

This is more of a 'bikes I've written off' post

AR50 was my first bike. Had a Micron exhaust and ended up with a 90cc kit on it. Did 60mph with that on!

Then there was a string of TZR 125's. Loved them.

After those an NSR125. Very good looking but slow.

RD350 ypvs which was beautiful but cost too much to run.

Last bike was a 900 Fireblade. More power than anyone could possibly need.

Not having any more. Value my life too much

First bike I really loved was a 1970's classic - an Orange Chopper Bike - complete with that gearstick 8) - had this around 1980 -1982

My younger brother had a Tomahawk (smaller Chopper bike basically) and my cousin a Grifter.

I had good taste (well, my parents did!) my first proper bike was a Mongoose Menace BMX in 1991, in a turquoise colour exactly like this one:

I was a late starter, didn't learn to ride a bike until I was 10

I startted with my mothers old bike:

Honda Camino 50cc (bright yellow)
then i got these in the following order:
Honda NSR 50cc (black with orange flames/stripes)
Honda CB 750 (a sunset orange one).
Lastly in 2004 i bought a Honda VTR 1000F Firestorm. (Matte black).

The last few years i don't own a bike anymore...

Did somebody mention Bikes? :D

I've had way to many to mention BMX's, road, MTB's the works. But the one that sticks in my mind the most is my first BMX. Would have been about 6/7/8ish I think. Was a Blue and Yellow Raleigh BMX. No idea of its name but man I loved that thing. It was what I learnt to do most of my falling off on! Fond memories of sitting on the kitchen windowsill with my feel in the sink whist my mom scrubbed the gravel out of my grazed knees. :(

Anyways, heres a few of my current rides. Enjoy (i know i do 8) )

Does that Cannondale go round corners????

I have so much love for the Grifter spent the majority of my youth on one a red mark two stars, rode it practically everyday. Got hold of a Super Grifter a few years back in a a trade for a couple of shirts at a mountainbike event. Finally got hold of the missing toggle chain fitted it onto the famous Sturmey Archer hub and told the Mrs I was just going to test it out up & down the road for a couplse of minutes. As soon as I got on it and changed gears the memories came flooding back and I was gone for a good couple of hours. Got rid of it though as Grifters only come in one colour as far as I'm concerned which is red (although my bro had the blue prismatic mark 2 one) I still have a Grifter handgrip shifter on my desk at work.

Had plenty other bikes but thing comes close to the Grifter
