Would rather take my chances in this exploding American mobile than the Robin at 103mph

My first car was one of these in silver

I went through a stage of owning shed after shed, then I got a work van so with a bit of saving I brought myself one of these:

This one was actually mine, and I had a lot of great fun in it. I picked it up on february and for about a week I was the dickhead driving around in the freezing cold with 13 layers on and the roof down.

I then got some share money that paid out and had an early mid life crisis and brought this:

Again, this was my actual one. What a car it was. You could just about get a ton out of it (in about third gear ;) ). Problem is, no one actually tells you what it is like to own one. I have never had a mistress, but if i did I imagine it would have been like this car. Dangerous and mysterious some of the time. Makes you feel alive for about 20% of the time but the rest, it just cost you money and caused you headaches. I loved owning it but it was a weight off when I sold it, although I did miss it.

I have a Ford Mondeo Estate company car now. I have become that person :)

Brave man to go over 30 in a plaggi pig.....must be one long straight steep hill with a awsome wind behind ye to get 103 ..I now drive a trannie which to me are best vans ever wifes got a 307 2liter turbo diesel which is like a go cart to me when I get in ......can park van easier

Mines done 190.000......still runs great nut body works getting rough .looking for a new en but sem bit pricey at min............bit crazy really as imho ford make **** cars nut great vans

My first car my dad gave me ...Austin Maxi

Except for trannie vans .. and I know alot of trafesmen who will agree .though I cant inderdtsnd how a company can make such **** cars but mint vans

Woh woh woh!

Ford made some of the best cars ever! - All Escorts up to Mk3. Sierras. Early Fiestas. All vans. Cortina. Anglia. Capri. Focus ain't bad for newer stuff.

Fords are just cheap to get repaired .I.d say only car worse is vauxhall .if you spend a little bit more on say a Peugeot vw toyata ye get much better built car .....well maybe not all toyata s lol

Nice, i also can compile a whole list off cars i owned... for me it all startted with an 1992 Ford Fiesta after i passed for me drivers license... It was a red one, a faded red one....

Then i had an 1995 purple Opel Tigra (don't know why as it's really compact and looking back, it looks like a girls car...)
next was a blaze red 2002 Seat Leon Cupra 4 wheel drive, loved that car

then these passed along in higher tempo...
Audi A6 break
Opel Astra break
VW golf V
Audi A3
Volkswagen Tiguan

and now we have 2, a new Kia Sportage and compact Peugeot 206+

Mk1 2 door Escort (my second car & I still have it)

Opel Corsa C (Holden Barina) gets me to work.

Found a pic of our Old Orange Allegro from one of our twice yearly surf trips down to Polzeath in Cornwall circa '93
Had to do some roadside repairs but never brought home on a tow truck. Front drivers seat was held up by a an old Vision skateboard deck.

Ford's are generally pretty crap, sorry but the XR3i was a joke compared to the Golf GTI and 205 GTI back in the 80's.
IMO cars are for driving if it drives **** then it's a no for me.

I wish they would start importing Lancia's again - always fancied driving one.
