Figure cleaning. Whats the best way?

Hi all,

What’s the best and safest way to clean vintage starwars?

I’ve just purchased a few figures, but they are a bit grubby and need a clean. Would the safest option be hot water and soap or do any of you have some kind of recipe that I could use for the best results?

Warm soapy water for dirt and meths for pen marks works pretty well.

Toothpaste and a soft toothbrush worked well on my Wampa :wink:

i use warm/hot water and shampoo with a soft toothbrush - gets them squeaky clean

I must point out that I think I did make the water a tad bit too hot and when I pulled a stormtrooper out of the water he did feel like his arms and legs were about to fall off.

Gustie: Cleaned up a snowtroopers cape today which cames up a treat and went back to its original shape after dipping in boliling water. Thanks

worth doing if paint is rubbed off but not if just dirty

Surgical spirit and cotton buds works every time and smells nice too
