So I was taking a look through my MOC's earlier and I always seem to be drawn to looking at the same one first - the AT-AT Driver! I must spend about 10 minutes just looking at that one alone. I didn't own the AT-AT driver growing up, so really there is no nostalgia for me, but the truth is - I just love the packaging! I think the picture chosen is fantastic with the black background and the AT-AT driver standing in the foreground looking really badass. The figure looks awesome with the yellow backdrop behind him! And to really top it all off - It's on an ESB card... All in all, it is my favourite packaging on any vintage Star Wars item!

Does anyone else have their favourite vintage Star Wars packaging?

I'm going to be boring and say ROTJ Luke Jedi again. For me its got everything, the hero in black in badass pose and creepy creatures in a smokey background all around that he just doesn't give a **** about. It made an impression on me as a youngster and still does.

My favourite logo is the Empire one though. I started getting SW toys as the Jedi figs were coming out, so for me it was harder to find Empire logo cards. When I did see them it was a buzz as they were out the ordinary and I still get the same feeling when I look at them now. :D

Agree with stratpack here. Luke Jedi was my first purchase back in the day. If you look inside the bubble it's packed with stuff - figure, cloak, lightsaber and blaster. POTF Han Carbonite is another class looking card.

The ESB 45A packaging always stood out for me.
Really colourful, with the Bounty Hunter Offer roundel and Palitoy logo. Plus the fantastic ESB logo.

Always had a soft spot for the 45A TIE Fighter Pilot cardback.

For me its Luke xwing on a star wars cardback, first figure i got to open on a christmas day all those years ago, love the pic of luke on the card, i will own a mint example one day

At-At driver is a great one. R5D4 as well. Good bold images.

I dislike some of the last 17 images as they just look like crappy stills from the films. Amanaman is a good example of this. Anakin is probably the worst one of all IMO. It's not even a photo!

I always thought R2 on the 12 back is a nice card back ,it's a real beauty when displayed .

So many great cards out there it's hard to choose.

I think it would have to be the original SW card. Probably Luke FB on a 12 back for the unspoilt image. Or maybe a 21 back with the Boba Fett offer (did they do that figure on that card?). Of all the offer logos that's my favourite.

gotta go with the 12 back sandpeople . just my favorite picture of my favorite figure . 12 back ben is a close second

Figure cardback wise, I would agree that the AT AT driver is very cool but my fave cardback is Luke Hoth, just love that pic and the ESB logo.

I also love the orginal Helix designs, that red and yellow logo, very striking. And as for overall best bit of packaging? Easy, 15" IG 88 box - it's abeast of a box!

I've always liked ERG and Nien Numb for some reason
Also a Tri Gam Guard and imperial Gunner

A silly one for me is Power Droid. A local newsagent shop uncharacteristically had some figures up circa 1981. When I showed interest he told me he had a box round the back. He let me fish thru it - the only time I've handled a case - and in amongst the figures I had was a Power Droid. It looked weird with the pink / purple overload. Weird figure. Weird coloured card. Weird that it turned up in a local newsagent.

Luke Farmboy pondering the universe looking at the twin Suns or Moons or POTF Anakin since it was a hand drawn image of the ghost character not for everyone's tastes tho but...

Carded i've always liked the Emperor's Royal Guard and Snowtrooper

Vehicles i've always liked the Imperial Shuttle, mainly because I always wanted enough figures to re-create that scene, a good excuse for army building : )

Bit of an obvious response from me given my focus, but if we're narrowing this down to carded figures and I have to say Han Original; personally I prefer the ESB card as I love the ESB logo. It might not be the most exciting figure, but the action shot of him firing the DL-44 is right up there as iconic SW images go and it wins for me!

Outside of Han, I do have a real soft spot for the original boxes that feature the 70's kids playing with the toys, they really capture the era perfectly and put them as a placeholder in the timeline of our lives... so, the Palitoy Death Star wins narrowly over the Falcon on that score for me 8)

Hmm good question.

Firstly Luke Jedi, nothing to do with my focus honest

Also love the R2 SW card it's a real beauty 8) Am also a big fan of the Tusken card, particularly the SW one. There are many more but I'll round it off with the Biker Scout who looks so damn cool on the speeder bike :)

Of the vehicles I like the alternative Falcon set up picture and the Imperial Shuttle and the battle damaged xwing 8)
