OK ill start this debate as i am REALLY jacked off with this country.

how the fook do MP's get away with pure outright theft from the public and not get sacked or taken to court?

Those fat idle bastards are on 6 figure salaries and claim for all sorts of bullshit like porno's, piano tuning and gardening!!

they are a disgrace to our country and should be put in jail, here we are strugging to make ends meet and facing redundancy, and those twats line their pockets with all our tax money.

I know exactly where your both coming from, but a few points;


1) This IS NOT "NEW" NEWS. MP's have been doing this for decades!
2) Relative to their US equivalent, MP's are actually underpaid (even with expenses taken into account).
3) MOST actually haven't broken the rules (yes, the rules suck but...)
4) They get to vote for their own pay rises and expenses rules etc so it really shouldn't surprise people when they take the piss!
5) I can't help but think that a lot of the people who are on phone-in's cursing them up and down would do exactly the same in their shoes! TBH I probably would, although I'd like to think I'd stay within the (admittedly, dodgey) rules!
6) Unfortunately, I can't help but think that even if we do sack them all, we will only end up replacing them with another bunch of self-interested wankers!

Don't get me wrong, I'm NOT sticking up for MP's at all, I just think a fair few of us would have done the same in their position. At the end of the day everyone always kenw politicans were a bunch of self intertested two faced bastards...........all they have done is confirm it for us!

The fact that all three "main" parties are equally affected makes it harder to 'punish' the guilty as a vote for the smaller parties (UKIP, BNP, Communists, Green party, Monster raving looney) is never going to result in one of them getting a seat in parliament ahead of a representative of the big three.


A few MP'S will probably end up in court over what they have done, and a few more may be de-selected or announce they are stepping down (jump before they are pushed) but most will carry on regardless, albeit with a little less respect and a lower expenses claim.
 
Yeah i agree to an extent, but we have a right in times like this to have justice as it would happen to us, if i were to take the mega piss at work and steal vast amounts of money then it would be the straight sack.

This isnt a case of a few extra grand for a sofa, it pure fat fukin greed, and you see stuff on the TV with gordon brown not letting the gurkahs live in the UK because of the financial impact!! i mean they fought in the friggin war for us. But all they have to do is say 'sorry' for stealing thousands that could have gone into healthcare or research.

i think its just a build up of **** thats making it come to the surface, they are all twats and this country is inviting people to take this piss out of its useless rulers.

I'm not exactly a fan of mass immigration into Britain, but if someone is prepared to fight for this country (something none of us on here have done, Han your few years "in the barrell" don't count!) then, IMO they have EVERY right to come and live here and enjoy the benefits we all do. Hell, I'll give them my citizenship if Gordon won't let them in!

MP's have had the power to control their own spending and wages and like most people who have un-checked power (or who are supposed to self regulate) they have abused that power.
What gets me is that a majority of the local constituencies have said they WON'T de-select the MP's who have blatantly taken the piss :shock:
I'd love to see the reaction they get when they go door to door canvassing for support for those guys in the next election!
 
Best thing to do is use your vote against the twats - or spoil your ballot paper and write Gordon Brown is a **** on it!

Taking the piss, I mean I claim expenses for travelling to work where needed and asked to go, but these parliament plonks take the biscuit

you will probebly not believe this, but i cooked the buffet for the question time programme last week at the grimsby institute, and i got the chance to sit in the crowd..... they got some **** they did.......

I heard a lady on the radio yesterday moaning about how all this could make MP's suicidal. Hope they enjoy their brief brush with reality :twisted:

Mate that "lady" is the Tory MP who married another Tory MP, both have been claiming the full second home allowance, only draw back is on seperate houses.
Your heart really bleeds for them doesn't it?
If it was one of us and the IR were after us and we were suicidal would the MP's be asking the revenue to go easy on us?!?
