Thanks for the kind words guys but I've had so many messages asking about my injury it'd be easier to say in one go.
I've had a pretty bad, and funny at times, things with injuries this year. So here goes......
In January I went to the doctor due to frequently twisting/spraining my right ankle. I never go to the doctor. The one I asked for had retired 5 years earlier. I was prepared with a speech of why I needed something done about it after putting up with it for 20 years but she was awesome and sent me for an MRI. MRI showed a lot of tissue damage and need a specialist.
February: Off I went. Too complex for specialist as there was 3 separate issues which all needed fixed. Had to wait for a specialist of the specialists. MRI showed some arthritis
, some cartilage damage and some wear to ligaments. Quick fix (6 weeks) and I'd be done.
March: 1st major operation. Showed that arthritis was actually 90% damage
, ligaments were ****ed, and that when they cleaned my ankle the cartilage came away. It's the one thing they can't replace/repair cartilage. So after 6 weeks we decided on next op after some physio.
May: 2nd major operation. Drill lots of small holes into my ankle bones, reroute blood vessels through the holes, protect against arthritis. Formulate a plan for ligament repair. Not possible. Remove ligaments and plan to put in artificial ligaments. Repeated minor key hole ops in the weeks.
June: 3rd major op. New ligaments inserted.
August: no lateral movement even with extreme force (****ing hurt though). Would need to consider artificial ankle if movement did not happen. possibly as a result of physio stress fractures appear on the top bones on my foot. Stop physio. But I got lateral movement!!!!
Sept: Stop physio again due to new intense pain. WTF is going on? Didn't have pain like this after any point in the last few ops.
Oct: New MRI and Xray with super specialist. Arthritis has got a lot worse (how is that possible? 90% sounds bad enough!) and the bones in my ankle are crumbling/degenerating. Gotta go back early Dec (Farthest From
!!!!) to talk about next course of action.
Been a bloody long six weeks from February.
