End of year awards?

Ok so I'm still new to this forum but the juniorchub thread (public apology) got me thinking. Has anything ever been done to give out recognition for certain members over the calendar year.

I'm thinking stuff like funniest member, best avatar, best post/thread and stuff like that. I don't want to tred on any toes or anything and if it's a **** idea then I will get the message and strole on.

Just a thought to inrich the forum perhaps. If it's already been done and hasn't worked then ignore me.
 
Good idea, hmmm I would go for ACE aka Jason joiner and (Jason) AKA Mr Palitoy for "toy Toni gate" I know many other members were involved but I do think these two stood out!
 
Can see the Chubb bros fighting it out for Most Embarrassing Moment

Think Michael S has the Turn Every Situation into a Poem award sown up but can see a big fight for Podcast Presenter of the Year
 
Great idea and there are plenty of nominees,
For all sorts of awards, we are up to our knees,
With faux pas aplenty, many will for that one compete,
This awards thing will go down a treat.
Let's see how long this thread will last,
Maybe an inclusion in the next podcast,
We have the Baftas awards and the like,
The Toni's lets not go there, that one can take a hike,

I was thinking of this earlier today funnily enough. Here my thoughts on possible awards and what they could be called:

thread of the year: The Binding the Galaxy together award
Hero of the Year The Skywalker
Villian of the Year The VADER
Member of year The Solo
Purchase of the year The Owen
Seller of the year The Jawa
Focus Collection of the year- The stay on target award
Collection of the year- Impressive, most impressive award
Joker of year The Jar Jar (just give it to Chubb jr now)

I think we should award particular threads though rather than individuals...

Except the Jar Jar award, I will gladly take that now :lol: :lol:

Agreed on Chubb junior where the idea was planted for me.

Like your slant on the themes as well.

I think it's a good idea guys, theforceuk will you be organising it as it's your idea? I liked the idea of naming the awards too.

Can we have a nominations thread etc? Would be good fun :)

I'm happy to have a go at organising it but I dont really think I would be the best person. My I.T. skills are poor and I'm sure there are plenty other members who would like to do it? :? I guess a starting point is to come up with the categories.
