Anyone else agree with me?

Selling items on eBay really does my head in sometimes especially when you have listed items on eBay and right at the last minute someone puts a new bid in - winning them the item. Then, they disappear off the earth and have to be reminded 5 days later that they are still to pay for the item. What makes it more frustrating is they are bidding right at the last moments at the end of the sale, how hard is it to click 'pay now' straight away? (Odd that I feel like the villian in this). Why bid if you're not willing to buy? I wouldn't mind if the winning bidder emailed to explain why they're late in payment! Are there trigger happy eBay addicts out then random clicking on bids just for kicks??

I think this has been amplified as I have 2 items finishing at the same time and neither (different buyers) have paid after 5 days!

Am I allowed to locate these people and slap them? :(

Rant over. Time for a cup of tea. :)

Happens all the time to me, its alwayd EU bidders too.

I even got a negative feedback when i opened a non-paying case against someone lol, thank fully it got removed.

I have been buying & selling on ebay since 2003 & in that time I have seen it go from bad to worse, & there has been a dramatic decrease in sales over the last 12 months, hence all the free listing days they keep throwing at us, the amount of folks now not even bothering to leave feedback at all seems to have sky rocketed in the past 3 to 4 months to to the point when I get about 40% not leaving feedback ever - WTF is that all about eh??, then the point you are making about none paying bidders, I have had 5 in the past month where they have not paid within 7 days so at the 2 day stage I send a polite note requesting payment & pointing out that in the lising it specifies payment to be made within 48 hours of listing end time which is also on the invoice, I then hardly ever get a reply & after 7 days I always open an un-paid item dispute to which the last 5 none payers have simply ignored :?: I just don't get it :? as I only bid if I am going to buy, I always pay as soon as the bidding has ended unless I have put a high bid in & gone to bed or gone out & then make payment the following day usually with a little sorry for the delayed payment note.

Its getting to be a very frustrating place to trade, but where the hell else are you going to get rid of all the crap you don't want?, as I never throw anything away that could be of use to others, as IMO that's half the problem with why we are in such a mess with the world now - buy it & bin it within a year WTF??

Feels good to have vented to, so thanks for the thread & take comfort in knowing it sure as hell is not just you!

Yeah my auctions state "payment must be made within 4 working days, however if this is not possible, please let us know to discuss solutions." then i state underneath - "If payment is not received within 7 days of purchase then a Non Paying Buyer Dispute will be filed"

I always contact them after about 5 days asking for payment but once a week has gone by and i've received no word i always open a non payment case with ebay. Usually they cough up once ebay gets in touch with them.

To be honest i often take 4 or 5 days to pay for something but i always check that that is ok by the buyer in their "must pay by" info. This is just a pay day issue with me.

That's good to know - ill start adding more detailed pay info when I next list an item. Thankfully I only sell spares that I have obtained! If I was doing this full time, I properly would have lost the plot by now!

Update - one of the none payers emailed last night (after I had sent a reminder email yesterday morning) saying he'd pay me Friday, which is bordering on 12 days since the auction finished. Why not email to say this in the first place (before or just after winning the item)?

Ahem... I need a cup of tea.

Yeah i'd say 'sorry payment has to be received within 7 days' and relist it. Tell him he's welcome to bid provided he has money to pay for it this time.

It just keeps on stunning me how many STUPID people are on this planet, really!!!!
