Ebay maintenance site down error...sellers to lose out?

seems like ebay have made a major screw up, the site has been down for well over an hour (23/08/13 as of 11am), first i couldnt even login, now i can login but cant view or bid on any items, searches online are showing people panicking, massive sales losses as no bids can be made.

even the old rumours ebay has been hacked

wonder if sellers have to honour sales now when nobody could bid on their items?

Its still glitchy, i clicked on a users sales and it said user ID no longer exists

i just wonder how many thousands of sellers have lost out, and if they have to honour the sale, i certainly wouldnt, 90% of bids are in the last minute.

It was scheduled maintenance with notice given, so ebay wont do anything at a guess!

So did I Jason. I know they normally do maintenance in the early hours to mimimise disruption but didnt expect it to take as long as it did :?

i dont see how they can get away with it, they surely cant do maintenance whilst peoples auction are running, i bet loads of people lost out big style with sales.

it was supposed to be up until 9am only, ran until gone 12 before i stopped getting niggles.
