I hope this post doesn't offend anybody, but I've really lost a little faith in selling on here over the last month. Selling my 12 backs has been a complete nightmare - I've had so many people order things and not pay, ask me to hold things and then ignore my PMs etc. I've even had someone arrange to come to my house to pick three up, and then not turn up and no word since!

I expect it now and again but I'm amazed that from selling 12 figures I've had so many people let me down. To put it into perspective, 10 of the 12 figures have been 'sold' or 'put on hold' and I've only actually had the money for 3 of them!

Has anyone else noticed this on here recently? Ebay is expensive but it seems a lot more reliable at the moment! :(

Not had people agree deals and back out on here (had one on/off Evil bay).
I have had a lot more people enquire, ask for pictures, discuss prices/postage options and then stop communicating which is ****ing annoying. Even a simple "sorry, changed my mind" would suffice.

Yeah exactly, going quiet is the most annoying thing! Just tell me you don't want it any more and it's all good.

Wasn't me!!

Oddly I just had my first SWF "second chance offer" because of the same kind of issue! lol

There was a recent figure for sale on here and another member got in before me so when I asked; the seller said it was on hold for the first guy (fair enough!). Week later I get a PM saying the other person never paid for it and did I still want it? :? I did buy it but I hope asking sellers to hold things then dropping out of the sale without communication isn't going to become a trend around here.

Personally I think if you decide not to buy something for whatever the reason (even AFTER committing) you should always tell the seller and not leave them hanging, the worst thing they can say is - "oh you bastard! but thanks for telling me" instead of waiting for money that never comes!

No. It's common place on RS but i've not seen too much like that on here. Can't ****ing bare being messed around tho. If they are new members who don't usually post here then they probably just found your sale through a google search and signed up to check it out.

I think you should name and shame anyone asking for something to be put on hold and then not buying it (unless a message was received with an explanation of course). I personally would like to know who's doing it so the same doesn't happen to me.

Not a bad idea Pete. If it was someone from Evilbay we would have flamed them ages ago.

I know of one member on here who back out of deal (similar to Edd's) recently and caused a kerfuffle and a few PM's for us Mod's. Slightly extenuating circumstances, granted, but still not good.

On a personal note, I have always gone through on deals were I have agreed a price or where something has been held for me.
I understand "**** happens" and people find themselves suddenly short of cash or they just change their minds. But, to just ignore someone who you've just agreed a deal with, or asked to do you a favour by holding an item, isn't on.

So yeah I'm happy enough for people to flame in those circumstances. It's about the only way to stop the 'non-comm' problem. Albeit, we may just get a "I don't want it any more" message instead, at least it's an improvement.

Yeah, it's not flaming just to get at people, it's so other collectors can be aware and know who will and won't waste their time.
Works both way if a seller is ****ing people around. There was a case recently on RS where a seller sold a load of Mocs, took the money for them and then went on holiday (ie. Not posting the stuff)... he was rightly "flamed" by a disgruntled customer/forum member and altho a load of RS members (typically) stuck up for him and jumped on the guy for "overreacting" i thought he was damn right. I was actually in the process of making the seller an offer on something but after reading how he deals with people i told him not to worry.
Like you say, if this was an ebay seller we'd have flamed him in a second and we'd all be calling for his head. In my book when a forum member does it it's even worse. They should know better and behave better.

You are admin Edd, just change their avatars to forum cock. ( oh wait that's been done before   )

Haha  as everyone seems to agree it's being messed around that is really annoying, there would be no hard feelings if someone just said to me "sorry, I'm short of cash now." I don't particularly want to name and shame but they're not newbie members. Hopefully things will pick up from now on :)
