Hi guys,

I have started to put together some ideas on an alternative way to display your loose figures, hopefully this will take over from the glass Ikea which although store a lot of figures also take up alot of space!

The main idea will stay the same but I will be able to do bespoke work for focus' or specific ideas that people will want.

Below is the first idea which is still in fairly early stage... Massive thanks to Todd (tiefighterboy) for all his help in making this happen. I have based it upon my 12 back Bin Header, but will be maiing other variations dependant on demand.

This will be the front decal which will obviously have the inner part cut out and a background colour of your choice. The decal will be mounted onto foamboard and then attached to an MDF backing which will in turn will be mounted onto the framework of the display cabinet. I am in talks with Ed (e30318is) on a quote for some expert high quality shelving cabinets. Due to their size these will be able to be mounted to your wall with minimal fuss and I think will display not only itself beautifully but your figures also.

The idea is to produce around 6 or 7 of these which will range in amount of shelving dependant on the theme.

First 12 - single shelf cabinet
First 21 - double shelf cabinet
ESB - triple shelf cabinet
ROTJ - triple shelf cabinet
POTF -single/double shelf cabinet
Bespoke focus -dependant on amount of figures, etc...

My next idea is a Bell Display for the First 21 which again is in early stages... Along with the ESB, ROTJ a,d POTF decals.

If you have any ideas of input please let me know.

Similarly, if you would be interested in buying one once the actual prototype has been made, please contact me.

I will be making my own of each one over the next 2 months dependant on the time I have spare.

Thanks guys, look forward to your input.

Cheers,

Bram

Looks amazing. I agree the Deltof cases do take up a lot of room but they are cheap.

I'm not sure how to display my first 12. Do I display the DTs and if so what do I do with the single sabres? Would there be enough room on the first 12 one for 2 figures side by side like the Jawas and DTs?

I'm certainly interested Bram and once I've completed my first 12 or last 17 (which comes first) I'll be looking for quotes.

Hi mate,

Great question and the good thing is that I can make these bigger if needed!

If you wanted two rows of the First 12 then its just a case of making the cabinet bigger and enlarging the print of the decals. Obviously this would be more expenisve as essntially its a one off, but cost wuld come down if more wanted them.

This way, you could display, both versions of Jawa's Han Solo's and of course your DT versions!

I am getting the print of this decal done and a cabinet from Ed shouldn't take too long, I'm hoping I will have a finished prototype by the end of next week, then I can start work on the other versions.

Hope this answers your question?
Keep em coming!

Cheers buddy,

Bram

Lovely work so far gentlemen, looking forward to seeing some damn classy juicy loosie displays. As a collector on a tiny budget (ok, I'm a cheapskate), bespoke cabinets will be out of my range. Currently my figs are in a cabinet that cost a paltry £3!

Very earlier stages, but I've done some mock ups just using "paint" so very very basics the quality will be beautiful once they are done professionally!

Hope you like them?!

At the moment they look like blank cardbacks which is the idea behind them, so you have touse your imagination to a certain degree. I am also toying with the idea ofhaving a protective bubble like clear plastic front, which will be an added option along with lighting.

The SW, Bell and POTF will be on 2 shelf designs with maybe Toy Center and/or Toy Galaxy Shelf Talkers as the shelf front.

The ESB & ROTJ wil have two different variants of their shelf talkersas well.

The background colour will be of your own choice.

Any comments, advise or suggestions welcome!!

Thanks mate... It'sonly on paint... Need to get Photoshop on the go!

I just remembered I had some pics of the ESB Shelf Talker that I sold, so here is what it would look like with the shelves.

These shelf talkers can be removed or changed to other ones such as Toy Galaxy or other artwork if preferred. :p

Hope this gives you more of an idea?!

I have my stuff in an old trophy display cabinet. What i wanted was some sort of landscape background but couldn't find anything like it anywhere. I managed a small section from the packaging of a modern playset but it's not much cop. I would even print something out if anyone knew of anything that would suit. Maybe some sort of Death Star corridor type scenery.

At present some of my loose figures are stood on what i think is an ESB release stand. It's a funny thing that i haven't seen anywhere else. There are two white, detailed, interlocking L shaped pieces. Has anyone seen that before?

I think it is the ESB Display Arena you are thinking about, I have that one :D

That's the one. Probably in Gus & Duncan's guide. It's not a bad thing for displaying

Yes the display is good, but you need more than one if you have a lot of figures and the background is only ESB, it could be cool with SW or ROTJ background for that display.

I have one full set of loose figures on display, minus some variations and super rare bits that i don't own. Do we know of any backgrounds like i mentioned earlier?

The backgrounds for the set ?
