Hi guys,

Wanted to post this here as the ebay may have an account on rebelscum.

Anyway I'll keep it anonymous. Basically I bought a MOC figure back in May from a seller who I knew would be a difficult guy (his listings are full of aggressive 'terms and conditions') but I wanted to take a chance on a nice item.

One of his terms was not giving shipping prices til after the auction. I accepted this and bid on the item. After winning I contacted him about Insurance and after a painful week or ten days managed to pay him the full amount with shipping, then after another wait the extra for that insurance.

He just didn't contact me with the complete invoice so I sent him the extra to his paypal. I did not get any notification of the item being sent, in fact *no* contact at all since mid way through the payment!!

Anyway after another 2-3 weeks the item did arrive, and written on the box was a note that it was insured for 200usd. I was happy with that because the item was about 170 total.

The problem is the bubble was cracked and now the guy continues to ignore all my email. I even said to him 'it's a pity this is so awkward as the item was insured so no need for any stress' etc.

So it's been a month + and no joy. Ebay disputes seem only geared to incorrect listings and bad payers.

Am I f*cked?

If no joy with contacting him i would open up a paypal dispute, surely that would get his attention?

Like Jukesy says, that's all you can do - if he's taken your money for insurance and he's not paying up then it is fraud , so ebay/paypal should act on it.

Yeah it seems that if you bring it up on RS and they are a member then it will usually get sorted out otherwise people seem to get a bad reputation quite quickly. Its well worth a try.

Make sure you don't run out of time with Paypal as you usually have to bang in the claim within 30 days or so. The other alternative is to claim through your credit card if it has on-line fraud guarantee. The credit card companys usually do a proper job and get your dough back.

Thanks for all the advice. I'll try ebay first tomorrow and see what happens.

I've not left any feedback yet. Should I wait?

You have 90 days to leave feedback so I would leave it until the very end if you don't get a decent result.

If he is a regular seller sometimes the only way to sort things is to name and shame !!
