Hi Guys.
I have got a parcel arriving from the US in the next couple of days. I Paid $250 for it, just wondering how much i am likely to be charged for customs etc?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

Oh dear lol

VAT @ 20% import duty on top of that which varies and then the all wonderful Parcelforce "handling fee" of £12

i think your looking at about £45+ mate

lets hope it slips through

I paid £205 for something recently and the charge was £48. Bastards.

Do you actually get stung by custom charge on star wars toys etc?? or is this just something else?? I know i have bought couple of stuff such as vintage bmx frames etc from the state and was very fortunate not to be stung........yet!

It all depends on value and declaration, if it not a gift and its over £18 you pay VAT and handling fees, If its a gift it can be valued up to £38 and no fees apply.

If its over something like £120 then you also get customs duty charges, its a blatent con.

Thats why i ask people to value as a gift + $45 value so its under £38 bracket.

Risky of course but id rather run the risk than pay that shite.

But i did have a parcel slip through the net, its was valued at $110 and not a gift but it got delivered without charge.

Does anybody know if you get customs charges when you receive stuff back from AFA? I've never used AFA before but i'm thinking of getting a couple of things graded. Cheers Guys

Never sent anything myself, but I've heard AFA mark the package/shipping info so that customs know they are only returning your item to you and that no real value (as such) has ben added to it.
I'm pretty sure custsoms have still tried to shaft people but then that's hardly surprising!

I have also heard that you dont get charged when the AFA return stuff but cant say 100%. Ive not sent anything yet!

Hi Guys.
Thats what i thought about the £50.00 mark. So not the end of the world. Got it for a very good price anyway so cant complain. Would be well happy if it slipped through the net! Fingers crossed!
