Collection Direction Question :-)

Hey Guys

As you know I have been selling up large chunks of my collection (Kenner SW-ROTj/POTF/Droids/Ewoks and a whole host of vehicles and playsets)

Well i've been toying with the idea of trying a character focus. Need something new to breath a bit of life into my collection.

Any suggestions?

I would certainly say that a character focus is the way forward.

I also started this thread here but it didnt really take off.

Good luck with the focus if you get started. It really is great fun.

Just let us all know what character you decide to focus on.

A character focus would be a good idea Gaz i reckon. Especially with your collection being largely Palitoy.

It'd allow you to buy abit of kenner, and also dip your toes into preproduction but contain it all to one character so you dont spend insane amounts of cash or buy too much. Character foci can get frustrating though, especially with one-of-a-kind pieces tied up etc.

Just go for a focus that you are happy with. Although we can all tell you waht we think it is your collection and should make you happy and nobody else.

If the hunt is your thing then try a character that has a long production run, SW or ESB character possibly one that made it onto a POTF Card then you can take as much time as you like with some consistency in turning up new items.

If its a side focus to a main collection then small but sentimental might be the best one!

If not combine both !! Or go for Boba as mentioned :lol:

Death Star Droid would make a great Focus and you've already got some of the difficult Palitoy examples :roll:

I'm considering a new character focus myself, I really enjoyed it last time. My advice would be pick a character from the first 2 films (as there will be more to collect) and also one that was widely available internationally, it's fun getting PBP, Ledy etc cards.

However I agree it should be somebody obscure - Dengar?

Bang on, there are loads of Vader Mock up cards with some wierd and wonderful logo's on them as well!

You should also check out the first page of that thread as it shows Bill Mcbride's Vader run I mentioned earlier.
