Is it just Me or does anyone else only try and collect MOC Figures on the actual card backs from the movies they were in, ie: Luke Farmboy on SW card, At At Driver on ESB Card etc.... :?: I just never found the appeal of figures on cards from films thier not associated with, especially Hoth figures on Jedi cards...........

I'm with you on that one although I do understand when people go for a focus run on a figure wanting all the different cards that figure came on.

Yeah I know what you mean, i do have moc figures that aren't from the films they were in but if I had a choice I would prefer SW figures on SW cards etc....I appreciate it comes down to funds as well as it always bumps up the price of the card

That's exactly what I'm doing at the moment. It makes things more sensible and more challenging at the same time

Yes, with the exception of trilogos and Yoda (i have all 3 of his 'backs') i've never bought a figure not on his matching film card-back.

That's exactly what I'm doing too, but only Palitoy issued cards (I like a challenge, arf!) Personally I don't see the appeal of collecting the other styles of cards, but I understand why people would do it.

I think it's a great way to do it. I did it on kenner, then on Palitoy. I found it a very sensible/logical way of doing it and it looks great!

But I also like having them on later releases as well. As TFB says, they can be much harder so is a challenge!

Well being a Palitoy Debut MOC collector myself I am with you there, but as Gary said esp on Palitoy it is a serious challenge to find later releases of many figures and I certainly don't have the money, patients or indeed room to go down that road

Going for the debuts is hard enough believe me :?

Oh no!!
After reading this thread i need to find the love again for my collection.
I've got Ben, Chewie, Darth, Vader, Greedo, Walrusman, Luke Hoth and IG 88 all on ROTJ cards
My Han Solo is on ESB

Ah screw it, i've just nipped up to my museum to check!

It looks great, my cards rock, regardless of cardback. All is well in the world again.
Phew, crisis averted

I was never that bothered really, and IMO many figures don't look best on their debut cards. I always thought the original photo Ben looked **** for example.

For me it was less about the card picture, more the film title, so you'd get a complete run from SW through to ROTJ. YOu can sort of see how the toys developed over the years

I can see the appeal- and it's a good idea, but I find its better to have an example of a figure in every logo. This is Iain's idea, and when I heard it I thought- yes, that solves all problems, except for how to pay for them. Trilogo Madine here we come. :p

I would probably go for the MOC on the actual film card back but its just not that easy, primarily because I could not afford to but secondly...

Imprial Officer first seen in ANH, not released until ESB.
Luke Stormie, only seen in ANH, not released until ROTJ.
Imperial Gunner first seen in ANH, not releaesed until ROTJ.
Tie Fighter Pilot first seen in ANH, not released until ESB.
The Emperor first seen in ESB, not released until ROTJ...

And where doe Mr Fett fit into this little conundrum? Wasn't he on a SW card and not even in ANH, then when the new bits were added, hey presto its Mr Fett in Docking Bay 94, but that's not vintage so should I go ESB or ANH (SW)?

And these are the musings of a man who cannot afford to collect MOC

Agreed chubbs- be nice to have a TIE Pilot on a SW card. Maybe I should contact Iain's cousin jediretrocards to make one.

 Iains cousin  El Iaino

The Force runs strong in his family, shame one of them got seduced by the Repro side of the force

My cousin, look just cos he is from Ipswich.........oh yeah, well I suppose we could be related

I like how he is the evil one though - I am trying to right all the wrongs in the world by buying every MOC and he is creating all these evil replica's
